Large swimming pool

Villa Olive overlooks Kalkan bay and is only 700 meters from the harbour and town centre with panoramic views. The villa is situated within a 650 m2 plot surrounded by stone walled gardens and terraces with mature trees and colourful mediterranean plants.This villa is among the largest in Kalkan; the rooms and terraces are spacious and can cope quite easily with large numbers of guests eg the lounge and swimming pool are approximately 43m2. It is fully furnished to a high standard with tiled floors and quality fittings and it has air conditioning and central heating to radiators for the low season. There is off street parking should you wish to hire a car.

Notes on accommodation
Guests with young children should note that the swimming pool is unfenced but there is a secure garden on another level which is partially shaded. Cots and high chairs can be made available on request. There are some steep hills in the resort and as such wheelchair users or the disabled would find it difficult (but not impossible as long as you hired a car).

Amenities/Facilities provided

 

Outside
47 sq.m. swimming pool with secure private off road parking and large landscaped gardens with lemon and olive trees, bougainvillea and frangipane. Outside loungers and furniture provided as well as a BBQ. There is a new lower garden with shade away from the swimming pool for those wishing peace and quiet which has a large hammock. There are 2 rooftop balconies with fantastic views, 1 from bedroom 5 and the other on the top floor with sofas to provide extra areas to gain seclusion.

Coast/Beach
Kaputas beach is approx 15 minutes drive away and is a sandy beach located at the foot of a ravine. Patara beach 15 minutes away) is one of Mediterranean’s most beautiful and unspoilt beaches and has 18 km of golden sand! Kalkan has a pebbled beach with ‘blue flag’ status awarded for cleanliness. In Kalamar Bay, there is a local beach club with secluded bathing platforms cut into the hillside on the waters edge with swimming, water sports, restaurants and bar facilities.

Special interest holidays
We have a young husband and wife team who will look after you during your stay. They can arrange transfers from the airport and will meet you at the villa on your arrival to settle you in. They can book any excursions/activities you may require. e.g chartering a boat, scuba diving etc. and are available to deal with any problems/queries that you may have.
The river gorge at Salikent is a 20 km canyon. It is a hot spot for outdoor activities including rafting, although it also offers the relaxing choice of lazing around on suspended platforms above the Xanthos river eating freshly caught fish and drinking local beverages!
Trekking is a popular way to explore the area and there are many routes to choose from including the more challenging peninsula paths and the Lycian Way.

Travel
Dalaman Airport, approximately 1.5 hours away.
Antalya Airport, approximately 2.5 hours away.
Transfer from Dalaman for 10 people is approx £195 return.
Car can be hired in Kalkan but the public transport/taxis/trip organiser companies are very good and reasonable.

Distances
Kalkan is in the heart of the Lycian region and many ancient sites are close, including Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara, Tlos and Patara. Kalkan has an excellent local diving centre providing half day trips to some of the oldest submerged ruins in the Mediterranean and sea caverns. Paragliding is available with many reputable companies offering good value trips and the chance to see the area.

Further details
Kalkan has over 200 restaurants with many tucked away from view on roof terraces and down cobbled streets. The quality of food is high and caters for the more cosmopolitan clientele that Kalkan attracts and as a bonus everyone speaks excellent English and will accept payment in sterling.The nightlife comprises mainly of restaurants and bars, although there is a few late night live music venues. The lovely shops along the streets are open until at least midnight, and you can browse freely without pressure to buy. The shops sell glassware, stunning jewellery to suit all tastes, fashion, leather goods and carpets etc. Taxis are always available and they can pick you up from your restaurant or in the town. There are plenty of supermarkets and the pharmacies speak good English and are very helpful. There is an excellent pancake house 5 minutes up the road where you can get excellent local food with a panoramic view - A welcome pack is provided for guests and our agents have been commended all the time for helping guests to make the most of their holiday.

Well, we were absolutely delighted with your lovely villa which is the best we have stayed in by far. The thought that has gone into it is amazing.

The resort of Kalkan is lovely - as I said we have only ever been to Hisonaru and Olu Deniz but Kalkan beats it by far.

I have emailed Elena and Sadat today as well to thank them for the 100% attention and help. You have selected excellent managers - we only met Sadat and I have to say he was outstanding.
