Why not eat your breakfast/lunch or relax for a pre-dinner drink on the bougainvillea laden front terrace and be amazed at the views, as you gaze across the harbour to Kalkan below. Views to inspire, especially at night time! Club Patara is an exclusive development internationally famous for its architectural style, based on an ancient Lycian city. The development is an oasis of calm and tranquillity. Free from traffic & noise, the private cobbled streets wind their way from the top of the development to the turquoise sea at the bottom, (blue flag). A sweeping, Spanish staircase is the centrepiece of this stunning development. A free shuttle bus runs throughout the development, up to early evening and a boat service (small charge) takes you over to Kalkan each day, and is a lovely way to travel!

Changeover day
Monday in high season but flexible at other times. Please vacate the villa by midday on your day of departure, unless otherwise instructed. Earliest arrival would be 4pm if the apartment has been occupied prior to your arrival.

Notes on accommodation
Patara Prince Resort has 24/7 gated security. There is ample outside parking space, although cars are not allowed on the development, apart from dropping off and retrieving luggage, thus preserving the tranquillity of the development. You will have access to my British speaking agent in Kalkan, who will be on hand to offer personal assistance tailored to your specific requirements, e.g. book car hire, excursions, restaurants and provides 24 hour emergency call-out. Please note this apt is not suitable for children under the age of 8 years, and is non smoking, except outside. Resort facilities include: 4 swimming pools (one indoor), a spa, Turkish Hamam, 2 tennis courts, water sports centre, volley ball, table tennis, shuttle boat to Kalkan Marina (small charge), free shuttle bus around the resort. Patara Prince has been awarded a Blue Flag. Patara Prince also boasts 4 restaurants and 3 bars, which are open at different times throughout the season.
Accessibility
Due to the nature of this development it is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
Outside
Lovely, furnished front terrace (sea views). Furnished balcony (sea views), private rear terrace/garden area, furnished in Ottoman style with day bed/sofa.
Club Patara really is your perfect ‘away from it all’ paradise location. Its beautiful manicured gardens and wonderful amenities would suit the most discerning of guests, and for those just wanting to just chill out and relax, you need never leave the immediate surroundings to enjoy a wonderful holiday.
Two swimming pools along the shoreline (1 adult only), and a beach made up of private sun bathing platforms, which lead into the turquoise sea below. Within Club Patara you will find a choice of 4 restaurants serving a variety of food from, BBQ’s, Italian, Turkish snacks and a self-service buffet.
The development houses a Sauna, Turkish bath, Mini Gym and treatments/massages. There is a clubhouse with a snooker table, backgammon, chess and table tennis (some amenities are not available all year around).
Coast/Beach
A two min walk to the 4 lovely pools. A boat from Patara (small charge) takes you over to Kalkan and the local pebble beach. Kalkan is famous for its beach clubs, which are dotted around the coastline.
Patara beach is 10 minutes away and is easily accessible by taxi or local dolmus, and has 17 miles of glorious white sand. Horse riding along the beach, can be arranged locally if desired.
Kaputus beach (one of Turkey’s most photographed) is 5 minutes away by car on the Kas road.
Special interest holidays
The Lycian Area is full of architectural delights, being close to the ancient sites of Patara, Xanthos, Letoon, Myra and Thlos. You can spend days exploring these fascinating excavations, some guests have evan been lucky to help out of some of the excavations currently being undertaken at Patara. For boating enthusiasts there are opportunites for Gullet Cruising for either one day or more. The area is excellent for diving and there are numerous dive schools in Kalkan should you wish to partake or just learn. The Lycian way is famous for its walking routes which run for miles along the coast. It is possible to do smaller sections of the route for just a day. Kaputas is a beautiful sandy beach approx 5 mins drive away, also accessible by boat from Kalkan. The stretch between Kalkan and Kas is breathtakingly beautiful with fantastic views of its unspoilt archipelago. Whatever you choose to do for your holiday, rest assured Kalkan and its surrounding area has something for everyone.
Travel
Dalaman airport is 120 kilometres from Kalkan, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes transfer time. There are numerous flights to Dalaman from the UK and Europe throughout the season. Easy Jet, Thomas Cook, Monarch Airlines, Excel all have regular flights from 1st May through to the end of October. I am happy to arrange airport transfers to and from the villa, with a fully insured and reliable company, or if preferred, a hire car with a local company.
Distances
The villa is close to local amenities. A small supermarket is located at the top of the development for your convenience. Kalkan is a short 2 minute drive from the villa, or a pleasant stroll. A popular way to travel is to use the resorts private water taxi (small local charge) which runs to Kalkan harbour and back throughout the day and early evening. There are a number of reputable tour companies who provide an excellent array of tours that are competitively priced, in Kalkan village.
Further details
Kalkan is renowned for its high quality, reasonably priced restaurants and friendly people. The heart of Kalkan is its old town, incorporating a maze of quaint cobbled streets which meander their way down to the picturesque harbour. Old Ottoman and Greek houses, with ornate wooded balconies and trailing bougainvillea only add to the charm of the lovely village atmosphere. You will find small boutiques, intimate bars and roof top restaurants all mingling together, which at nigh time, set the scene for a truly memorable evening.

For the more adventurous, Kalkan is surrounded by numerous historical and geographical sites, including Pinara, Patara, Xanthos, Tlos. The sunken city of Kekova is a nature lover’s delight as you sail along the stunning coast line visiting Kale en route, with its ancient Ottoman Castle.
Why not try white water rafting at the amazing Saklikent gorge, hire a tree house for the evening, or visit the famous beach at Olu Deniz.
For the more adventurous the area is famous for its excellent paragliding and watersports, and for boating enthusiasts, why not hire a Gullet and its crew for the day and sail around the beautiful coastline, stopping off at a deserted spot for swimming, snorkeling or fishing.
The hippy town of Kas, with its weekly Friday market is a half hour away and is a must on any visit to this region. The market in Kalkan is held on a Thursday.
Alternatively enjoy the beautiful location of Kalkan, enjoy its many beach clubs and laid back atmosphere, or stay within the confides of Club Patara, enjoying its many first class amenities.
Within the villa you will find a comprehensive information pack at your disposal with details of things to do in the area and tour operators etc along with useful phone numbers. There is also a guide book and maps for your personal use.
Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is required when booking (non refundable), with balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. Prices are for up to 4 persons sharing. Discounts may be offered for longer/winter lets. A deposit for breakages of £100 will also be required prior to departure. (refundable up to two weeks after return if no damage has occurred). Once deposit paid you will receive a comprehensive Information Pack.
