It comfortably accommodates 8/9 people in 4 large bedrooms - 3 double and 1 twin - served by 3 shower/bathrooms incl. 1 Jacuzzi and 1 en-suite. The 3 first floor bedrooms enjoy sea views and 2 have large balconies overlooking the pool, terrace and bay. The modern, fully equipped kitchen adjoins the large light, airy open plan living / dining room which opens, through 2 sets of patio doors, onto a beautifully landscaped pool and terrace area. Reached via a marble stairway and overlooking the pool with its waterfall feature, there is a raised dining terrace with large BBQ and shaded pergola with stunning uninterrupted views to the sea and the sunset over the hills.

Changeover day
Changeover day usually Monday as this coincides with the majority of flights. However, we can usually be flexible.

Outside
Villa is set in private landscaped gardens with stunning views over Kalkan Bay. There is an outside dining terrace reached by a flight of marble stairs with table and comfortable chairs for 8 as well as large built-in barbecue. The terrace overlooks the 6.5m x 4m private pool with its waterfall feature. Pool terrace has 8 hard wood loungers with cushions and 4 large mobile umbrellas. There is also a relaxation area with sofa, 2 armchairs and drinks table. The gardens, terrace and pool are all subtly lit at night for romantic dining and late night bathing.
Coast/Beach
Villa Louise is a comfortable 15-20 minute walk from the harbour. Kalkan has a attractive pebble beach with umbrellas and beds, but is better known for its sophisticated beach clubs with secluded bathing, water sports and terrace restaurants which are reached by free water taxi and courtesy buses. If you want pure white sand, world renowned and unspoilt Patara Beach is a 15 minute drive and Kaputas Beach is just 10 minutes away. Both are easily reached via regular bus services.
Special interest holidays
Kalkan and the surrounding areas have many ancient historical sites, including Xanthos and Patara, which make it an ideal place for walking/hiking holidays - particulary in the Spring and Autumn. The gorge at Saklikent provides another opportunity for walking as well as river tubing or rafting.
The villages surrounding Kalkan are well worth seeing on a bike ride - although the hills are not for the faint hearted.
There are very good scuba diving clubs at the harbour (beginners and experts), and water skiing/banana boat are available at the Kalamar Beach Club (free taxi service).
Travel
Nearest airport is Dalaman which is approx. 100km from Kalkan. The drive takes 1.5 hours and the owners will be happy to arrange for private air conditioned transport to and from the airport upon request. Car hire not necesary but can be arranged by the owners if you would like to see more of the beautiful Taurus Mountains and local historic sites.
Distances
The old town and harbour at Kalkan is 1km from the villa, which is a 15 to 20 walk, although there are shops within 5 minutes walk from the villa and supermarkets 15 minutes away.
Further details
Nestling in a bay beneath the Taurus Mountains, Kalkan was originally a small fishing village. Often referred to as the best kept secret in Turkey, its pretty cobbled streets lined with old bougainvillea covered buildings, boutique shops, small bars and restaurants wind down towards the harbour - the heart of the old village.
Kalkan is known for the quality and variety of its still reasonably priced, roof-top restaurants, all with spectacular views over the bay, where there is something for every taste and quality wines to match.
There are several well stocked supermarkets, some of which deliver to the villa. The Thursday market, just 5 minutes walk away, has a vast selection of local produce as well as the inevitable 'designer' clothing! There is a busy branch of the Deniz bank next to the Post Office and both have ATMs.
Booking notes
Price includes bathroom towels and bed linen, twice weekly maid service, daily pool and garden maintenance. A deposit of 25% is required to reserve booking. Balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. Breakage deposit of £200 is payable with final balance and returnable 2 weeks after return.
