Aegean Apartment (Ground Floor) One double bedroom with king size bed, air conditioning and balcony plus two twin bedrooms (both could take 3rd bed), one with terrace and both with efficient ceiling fan. Spacious fully furnished lounge, with bed-settee, leading to the dining room with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, Ciftlik village and across the sea to Chios. There is also a covered terrace with patio table and chairs for alfresco meals. Good-sized kitchen with full size cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. 1 family sized bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin, wc and automatic washing machine plus a separate cloakroom with wc and hand basin. |

Notes on accommodation
Bed linen, bath and hand towels are changed weekly. Extra towels are available in each bedroom. Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. A UK manufactured cot is available for our younger guests. Both apartments are fitted with a safety deposit box, smoke alarm and fire extinguisher. Each apartment also has a DVD player, CD player, a good selection of books, a hairdryer and iron/ironing board. A welcome pack containing some basic items such as tea, coffee, milk, sugar and fresh drinking water will be provided on arrival. Further supplies of fresh water are available at the villa. For those arriving at the apartment after 8 p.m., Turkish Breakfast items will also be provided. For the comfort of our guests, Aegean Sunset welcomes non-smokers only.
Outside
Large, well-established, walled garden shared by both apartments with patio table and chairs, BBQ patio area, sun umbrellas and sun loungers.
Coast/Beach
Being at the tip of a peninsula, we are almost surrounded by more than a dozen magnificent beaches, all ‘Blue Flag’ status and offering golden sands, shelving gently into the crystal clear waters. Many parts of the sea are even heated naturally by hot springs. We have miles of coastline to suit all tastes – from popular beaches with full facilities, including water sport centres, to almost deserted coves.
Travel
Our nearest airport is Izmir (Adnan Menderes), approximately one hour’s drive away. Transfers can be arranged if required. Thomas Cook & First Choice charter flights operate from several UK airports on Wednesday & Thursday. For advance bookings, British Airways often offers the best prices with 3 scheduled flights a week.
Car hire is not essential but recommended if you wish to visit the many places of interest not too far away. To help with your travel plans we provide detailed route guides.
Distances
The apartments are situated close to the fishing village of Ciftlikkoy which, thankfully remains uncommercialised, with just a few ‘corner shops’, a bakery, several excellent family-run restaurants and two small beaches (one sandy and one pebble).
The resort centre of Cesme, just a couple of miles away, is the main tourist town of the region but still rather reserved. There are a good variety of bars and restaurants and the main street offers endless shopping opportunities.
Further details
Water Sports centre 10 minutes away, offering Windsurfing, Jet Ski, Kite Surfing, Banana, Scuba Diving, Ringo, Pedaloes, Kayaks, Speedboat, Catamaran etc. Just 50 minutes away by road, is the superb Aquacity Water Park.
Several boats leave daily for tours of nearby Aegean islands and bays including Donkey Island and Blue Lagoon. Private boat trips can also be arranged.
A visit to thermal waters shouldn’t be missed either. There are a number of possibilities:
* Natural sea water pools within the rocks, completely unspoiled, not signposted and an area known mainly just to the locals. * Hotel with three thermal pools, restaurant and massage facilities. * For something completely different, enjoy thermal waters and a mud bath at “Little Tibet”.
The weekly markets at Ciftlikkoy, Cesme, Ilica and nearby Alacati have an exciting local atmosphere.
Cesme's Castle dominating the town is well worth a visit and a stroll through the maze of streets behind will give you a glimpse of Turkish life hardly changed in decades. Cesme town square close to the colourful harbour is a great place to enjoy a cool drink and watch the world go by.

Booking notes
A £100 deposit per booking is required to confirm the reservation with the balance payable in full 8 weeks before arrival.
A £100 refundable deposit against damage or breakages is also payable with the final balance, together with the cost of airport transfers if required.
