Further details
The historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast. With the absence of mass tourism, Kalkan remains a charming and unspoiled haven of lush nature, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality.
Chic, sophisticated, yet warm and welcoming, it is indeed for the discerning holiday maker, whether family or group of friends. Local planning laws prohibit the construction of large hotels so consequently the town remains unspoilt with attractive whitewashed houses & its famed cobbled winding streets leading down to the pretty harbour and marina at its centre. There is a wealth of superb restaurants, (over 100!) the best to be had in coastal Turkey and for which Kalkan is most famous. Here you will find menus to suit all pockets and tastes. These are mainly situated along the harbour front or on roof terraces offering excellent views over the sea & superb fresh fish and seafood. Boutiques selling jewellery, fine leather handbags, clothes, Turkish rugs and local craft etc open late into the night. At night, Kalkan has a bustling relaxed feeling with its atmospheric bars playing blues, jazz and popular music. Banks, ATMs, supermarkets, post office, doctors, pharmacy, all are easily accessible. Thursday is Kalkan market day, a delightfully colourful market serving all manner of whare from spices and Turkish delight to clothes, linens and fake designer watches! But most importantly, the people of Kalkan are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
You will not forget Kalkan or its people. You will not forget Villa Salaam!

Guest comments
I have never stayed in a villa before, but after my wonderful experience at Villa Salaam, never again will I stay in a hotel! It was so warm, welcoming, peaceful and yet so much fun! It was like being at home but without all the headache! My children absolutely loved it! I especially loved the privacy around the pool which meant we were not overlooked. Kalkan the village is so beautiful! The people couldn't do enough for you and the food and entertainment was wonderful! We'll definately be back at the villa again!
Ms. P Yaqub and children!
