Both bedrooms and living room are air-conditioned. Mosquito screens fitted to bedroom windows, patio door and some other windows.
Accessibility
The apartment and grounds are not suitable for wheelchairs due to access via steps.

New rock garden in the boundary wall, accessible from the apartment's garden. Extended private patio with table and chairs, overlooking beautiful shared teardrop-shaped 25m swimming pool (open April to October) and fabulous views over Kalkan and Kalamar bays. Dedicated sun loungers/parasols around pool for sole use by each apartment. Large shaded rear patio/utility area with storage space for beach/pool equipment.
Coast/Beach
Within easy walk of local pebble beach and beach clubs. 5 minutes drive to dramatic, sandy Kaputas beach. 20 minutes drive to world-famous Patara beach, home to protected turtles - 20km white sand backed by sand dunes, mimosa and the ancient ruins of Patara, birthplace of St Nicholas. Patara is regularly featured as one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful and undiscovered beaches.
Travel
One and a half hours from Dalaman airport. Three hours from Anatalya airport. Car hire and/or transfers to and from Dalaman and Antalya airports can be arranged if required. Roads in Turkey are new with little traffic. The drive from Dalaman is breathtaking.
Distances
1km from Kalkan Village and 1.2km from Kalkan Harbour. 250m to Kalamar Bay beach club. 20 minutes by car to Patara Beach (considered one of the best beaches in the world by The Sunday Times travel writer. Local bus service also available.

Kalkan is a beautiful village nestling on the edge of the Taurus Mountains. In Kalkan there are many wonderful restaurants offering a wide variety of dishes at more than reasonable prices. Shopping is a delight in the small boutiques that line the cobbled streets. Many places of natural beauty and historical interest nearby - Lycian Way, Saklikent Gorge, Kekova sunken city, Tlos, Xanthos, Letoon and Pinara are all within easy reach.

About the owner
John and I live in West Sussex, in the south of England. We have three daughters aged 26, 24 and 23 who all absolutely love Nemo and Kalkan too - they even still come on holiday with us sometimes! John is now retired and enjoys going out to Kalkan on his own at times to tend the garden. I work as a nurse but try to get out there several times a year. We've enjoyed a variety of holidays over the years but as soon as we first went to Kalkan in 2005 we were smitten - we love it as much if not more than in 2005. It's our little piece of paradise!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We stayed in Nemo in July 2005 and said we'd be interested in buying an apartment at Saneil if one came on the market. Imagine our delight when Nemo was put up for sale a couple of months later! Nemo is in the most perfect location on what many people consider to be the best complex in Kalkan. Kalkan has such charm and beauty and its people are so friendly. It has a huge variety of restaurants and lovely shops and is only 90 minutes away from Dalaman. There are many places of interest to visit nearby and a variety of activities to enjoy.
Unique benefits of the property
As we're at the end of the complex next to the olive groves, we have been able to develop the garden next to the apartment and have a hammock to relax in and two seating areas that give scope for different views. Being on the ground floor, the apartment stays cooler in the hot summer months and has the benefit of a shady patio. We are one of two apartments that have been able to extend the patio, creating scope for additional comfortable seating. The beautiful round travertine table on the patio can seat 12! Nemo has stunning views over both Kalkan and Kalamar bays but is not too far up the hillside, so is within easy walking distance of the village on made up roads.
