Modern airy 2 bedroom duplex with the best sea and mountain views. Private back entrance and back terrace equipped for dining and relaxing. All year round shared pool with all year round maintenance. Overlooks Kalamar bay and the islands ‘Mouse’ and ‘Snake’ as well as the Yelken beautiful gardens. The apartments have a shared area with a fireplace to BBQ and seats to relax. Air conditioning in all rooms and mosquito screens on all windows and doors.

Other: 2 front balconies, one with easy chairs and the other with table and chairs. Back terrace has large swinging seat and table with chairs for dining. back terrace is covered by pergola.

Notes on accommodation
No smoking please. The apartment is suitable for couples or families with children; it does not, however have a cot or high chair. The back terrace is safe for children to play, but the front balconies are not so safe and would require adult supervision.

Accessibility
Not suitable for persons of limited mobility, due to the steps to pool and steps to duplex.

Outside
The shared pool are has a deep pool, small children's pool and a large jacuzzi, none of which are heated. Water is warm enough from May to October, even longer if you are brave! BBQs are possible in this are as there is a fire place.

Coast/Beach
Kalkan is a harbour town, and has a small pebble beach as well as several ''beach clubs' which are platforms next to the sea with cafes, sun beds etc. The nearest sandy beaches are Kaputas and Patara; both can be reached by Dolmus or car. Also walking distance is Kalamar bay with its own beach club.

Travel
Nearest Airport is Dalaman, approx one and a half hours by taxi. Private transfers can be arranged locally, or cars may be hired, either from Dalaman or locally. Taxi transfer at the moment is £55 for 1-3 persons

Distances
20 minutes to Kas which is the nearest town, or one hour to Fethiye, which is a larger town to visit. Both can be reached by Dolmus.

Further details
Kalkan is a small town, but has most amenities; there are numerous banks and ATMs, there are several small but well stocked supermarkets. Kalkan is famous for its wonderful restaurants and there are too many to choose from. There are also good doctors and dentists in the town. This coast of Turkey has a wealth of historic sites; too many to list but trips are available in town, something for everyone!

About the owner
I first came to Turkey in 2000, and fell in love with the place, and more especially Kalkan. in 2005 I bought my own place at Yelken, and have spent many happy holidays here. I love the place and I love the people, warm and friendly. As soon as I step off the plane I feel the instant chill factor. A great place to relax and unwind, enjoying the views, the people and of course the fantastic Turkish cuisine. The apartment is my home and has everything you need to enjoy yourselves in comfort

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The Yelken used to be a hotel and I spent many happy holidays there. In 2004 the owner converted it into apartments. We all loved it so much that we all bought a share of it; many of my neighbours were already friends. The owner still lives here too! The location is great. Walking distance into the old town and quiet enough in the day to relax. The views are wonderful and the pool is clean and welcoming (and open for 12 months a year if you are brave enough!

Unique benefits of the property
My apartment is a duplex on first and second floors; it is light and airy with stunning views. It also has a large shady back terrace, safe for children to play and perfect for a break from the full sun as it has a shaded pergola. I treat it as my home so it has a lot of items which will not be found in a basic holiday apartment. For example it has baking items, so you can bake with the lovely fresh ingredients here. A wealth of books and DVDs to watch when the sun is too hot. It even has a junk drawer full of all sorts of bits and pieces you may need.
