Beautiful and stylishly equipped villa with panoramic views over the bay of Kalkan from the pool terrace, front balcony and roof terrace. Situated midway up Kalkan's sloping terraces around the bay, offering wonderful views and the benefit of cooling breezes in the evening. A car is a useful addition, especially for those wanting to visit the unbelievable wealth of classical sites and other places of interest in the area, but not essential for those primarily seeking relaxation and the occasional excursion. Please note that the villa's facilities and location are not adapted for the old or very young.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed and wraparound balcony. Bedroom 2 with twin beds and rear balcony looking over the garden. Bedroom 3 with single bed gives on to large roof terrace. |

| Kitchen: | The kitchen has dish washer, cooker, washing machine, toaster, kettle, food processor, juicer, blender and full range of pans and equipment to cater for the most enthusiastic and ambitious cook. We also have an outdoor stone built grill. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room is decorated in Turkish style with comfortable corner sofa and rugs and attractive wrought iron dining furniture. We provide a TV,DVD, WiFi, laptop dock with powered speakers and Turkish mobile phone. |

Towels (not beach towels) and good quality linen are included and changed weekly, along with a full clean. |

Notes on accommodation
The villa is not suitable for very young children or the elderly because of the steps outside. All rooms have full air conditioning, which can be used to provide heating in winter if required. There is a selection of books and games, TV/DVD player, wifi broadband internet but most important GLORIOUS views over the bay, so please bring your favourite DVDs and laptop if you wish. The nearby Samira De Luxe has a large poolside plasma screen and is very welcoming.

Outside
The property has its own pool and sun terrace with magnificent views. The whole area is private with privacy screens where required to ensure you are not overlooked. We provide high quality loungers, umbrellas and outdoor dining furniture, including a barbecue and a pool shower.
The rear garden is a rare delight: fully terraced, attractively planted out, it has a traditional Ottoman stone grill, shaded by an ancient olive tree and is enclosed by high bougainvillea-covered stone walls. Proper gardens are highly unusual in Kalkan.
Coast/Beach
There are several beach clubs, which offer secluded stone terraces and excellent swimming. These are not suitable for children, which makes them perfect for those who want to lounge and swim. For children Kalkan has a pretty pebbled village beach which is 20 minutes walk. Our handbook will guide you through all the options.
If you want a sandy beach you will need to drive (or take a local bus or taxi) 15 minutes along the coast road to the glorious Kaputas beach.
Travel
The nearest airport is Dalaman which has now been rebuilt and offers brand new state of the art facilities. The new tunnel has also significantly reduced the transfer time to around one and a half hours. Car hire is useful but not essential. If you're happy driving, you can pick up a car at the airport. For first time guests we can arrange your transfer at around £55 each way depending on size of party and luggage.
Distances
Kas, 30km away, is a pretty town with more of the feel of a working town containing a wider range of shops and businesses. Fethiye is the regional capital and well worth the hour's drive for significant shopping. The whole area is rich in historical sites, with a wealth of classical sites where you can wander around amphitheatres and amongst the ruins of temples.
Further details
Kalkan offers something for everybody and you can have an active holiday walking, canoing, swimming, snorkelling and joining the many organised excursions offered. Kalkan itself is famous for its range of restaurants from cheap but excellent local eating houses to sophisticated rooftop restaurants offering sophisticated cooking in a romatic setting. The small local supermarkets cater for all your likely needs. There is a bank and ATM.
Booking notes
A deposit of 25% of the Villa price is required to confirm a booking. The balance is payable 8 weeks before departure. We prefer you to smoke outside the villa.

About the owner
Hello. We are Chris Davies and Kim Jones, married and now retired. We have owned Villa Gizem since 2006 and rented it out during the season. All our guests have had a lovely holiday as our guest book attests. We now live in Kalkan for most of the year and just let it out for the high season months. As a result our facilities are even better: the kitchen for instance is fully equipped as we leave all our kitchen equipment for our guests. We love living at Villa Gizem and are confident that you will love your stay there.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Our villa is in a perfect location just above town offering amazing views over the bay from every level, whilst only a fifteen minute walk from the centre of town.
Unique benefits of the property
The property benefits from a pool terrace at the front with fantastic views over the bay and a shady garden at the back, furnished for dining and relaxing. There is a traditional stone built Ottoman barbecue.
The villa is also beautifully furnished inside with traditional kelims in every room, full air conditioning and good a/v facilities: flatscreen, DVD, guest laptop and powered speakers, broadband wi-fi and a Turkish mobile telephone.
