The apartment is situated within mature gardens which contain many types of fruit and olives trees. Off the sitting room there is a pleasant balcony which overlooks the pool and has sunshine throughout the day. Sleeps up to four people with one main bedroom with a kingsize bed and two large sofa beds in the sitting room. It is situated in a quiet location with two pools and a cafe bar, with views of the sea and mountains and within five minutes walk to the village centre and the harbour.
Bedroom with kingsize bed, fan, air-conditioning and plenty of storage space. A single door leads to a balcony which over looks the garden.
Bathroom with shower, sink and wc.
A fitted kitchen which includes the main equipment, washing machine, gas hob with electric oven and fridge/freezer.
Light and airy with double doors leading to the main balcony which overlooks the pool. There are two sofas, TV, DVD player, stereo, ipod docking station, books, board games and information on the local area. Many original works of art hang on the walls.
There is an additional balcony situated off the bedroom.
All bed linen is provided, as well as hand towels, bath towels, beach towels and tea towels. The property is cleaned weekly and linen changed weekly.

There are two shared swimming pools which have sun loungers, sunshades and hammocks. The larger of the pools has a cafe bar which provides excellent food which can be eaten either at the cafe or room service can be provided to the apartment. Staff are friendly and speak good English. The surrounding gardens are beautifully planted and bursting with colour and scent.

About the area
The harbour is a five minute walk away, here boats for day trips around the bay can be arrange. The village has a friendly beach situated next to the harbour with stunning views of the bay. The tranquil 18km Patara beach is 15 minutes away by bus or taxi and has no buildings on it due to its nature reserve status. Patara boasts extensive ruins and has the oldest parliament building on records. The Lycian was runs through the village and offers excellent walking opportunities.
The international resort of Belek which boasts 14 courses is situated near Antalya.

Painting courses of one and two days are available taught by a qualified artist and teacher. All materials are provided and all abilities catered are for.
How to get there
Dalaman airport is one and a half hours away and Antalya airport is three hours away. Transfers in private cars can be easily arranged.
The charming town of Kas is 25 minutes away, from here a boat can be taken to the picturesque Greek island of Meis which takes half an hour. The nearest large town is Fethiye which is one hour away, here markets are held on a Tuesday and Friday and there is also an excellent fresh fish market every day. Sakkilent gorge is 30 minutes drive way, perfect for an invigorating river walk and mosaics at Xanthos can be visited en route.
Kalkan has a wealth of excellent restaurants which cater for almost every taste and budget. For something different, situated in the mountains 20 minutes drive away is the village of Islamlar where trout are farmed. Many of the beach clubs also offer good food and service and a variety of water sports. Kalkan has several ATMs and five small supermarkets. There are many small shops situated in the village selling handmade artefacts and several local artists and crafts people. Car hire and day trips can be arranged with most of the local tour operator's activities range from paragliding to river kayaking. Scuba diving is available on a daily basis and all levels are catered for.
About the Owner
I am an abstract artist who has lived in Kalkan for five years. I love living here as I find the quality of light and the intensity of colour exceptional. Kalkan is a very beautiful, special place and has something for everyone.

I bought this property as I fell in love with Kalkan and knew I would want to keep returning to the village.
