To the front of the complex lies the private beach club which is reached by cable car where a restaurant and bar are situated beside the decked sun terrace. The peninsula and the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus is only a day trip away. Bodrum, a picturesque resort, where the Castle of St Peter presides over the large yacht-filled bay has excellent shopping, alfresco dining and a vibrant night life. Daily boat trips operate to the Greek Island of Kos.

Changeover day
Changeover day will be flexible to accommodate guests but premises should be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
The complex has professional 24 hour on-site security ensuring an undisturbed and secure environment. It is suitable for couples and families alike who wish to have first class amenities on their doorstep, yet are only a short drive to the historic town of Bodrum and all it has to offer. A regular bus service with pick-up at the front gate offers guests transport to and from Bodrum (paid locally) and car hire can be arranged from the 'on site' management office. Cots and high chairs can also be arranged here. The small additional cost is paid locally.
Accessibility
Although Flamingo Country Club is built to a high standard it may not be ideal for those with mobility challenges due to its gradient.
Outside
The apartment has a secure tiled balcony that can be accessed from both the living room and main bedroom. It affords panoramic views towards the lake and hills. An outside staircase leads to a large roof terrace which is ideal for sunbathing, barbecues and enjoying the spectacular views. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ are provided for the use of guests. The complex offers 18 shared pools, all with integrated children's pool, sun loungers and umbrellas. Our shared pool is approx 30 metres away. The club house has a restaurant, bar, family pool and two large flat screen satellite TVs offering live coverage of sports. Adjacent to the club house is a leisure complex which incorporates an indoor pool, mini gym, sauna and Turkish bath. Other outdoor facilities include children's play area, a tennis court, one volleyball court and ground chess.
Coast/Beach
The private beach club is accessed via cable car which is approx 5 minutes walk from the apartment. This is not a sandy area but is a decked jetty-style sun terrace popular in Turkey which has numerous sun loungers, bean bags and parasols. There are bar and snack facilities. Boat trips sail regularly from Bodrum Marina, the ideal way to see the stunning coast line.
Golf
There is a 6 hole practice par 3 course (ideal for family entertainment). Vita Park Golf resort, Bodrum's only PGA standard golf course is just 10 minutes away by car. It hosts two par 71 courses. The 'Milas' id designed in the style of a Scottish Links and the 'Halikarnas' is a more Arizona-style course. Vita Park has its own website where details of facilities and prices can be found.
Travel
EasyJet have now launched 2010 direct flights to Bodrum from Gatwick, Liverpool, Stansted and Bristol. Car hire can be arranged from Flamingo CC to be picked up at the airport for your personal use. Taxis from the airport cost approx £25.
Distances
Flamingo CC is situated approx 20 minutes from the newly built Milas-Bodrum International airport which is just off the main route to Bodrum. Bodrum is a 30 minute drive from the site.
Further details
Bodrum, a very sophisticated port has much to offer the tourist. The Castle of St Peter dominates the harbour and is beautifully illuminated at night. There are many designer and traditional shops and the markets (Souk) are also to be found here. The Halikarnas Disco is ideal for those wishing to dance the night away, as are the bars and discos in nearby Gumbet. Tuzla Lake and its extensive wetlands lie at the end of a deep inlet from the Gulf of Gulluk and Mandalay Bay.
Embraced by rolling mountains covered by a combination of wild shrubs, olive groves, pine and tamarisk trees, this is perhaps one of the most beautiful locations in Turkey. A huge variety of birds take sanctuary here in the rich wetlands. Greater Flamingos flock to the area by the thousand. White storks, pelicans, herons, mallards and water chicken are also frequent visitors. The nearby fishing village of Bogazici nestles on the shores of Mandalay Bay. It holds an important place in history as the site of the ancient city of Barylia. Today, a few fish restaurants fringe the sea front offering the day's catch and other Aegean specialities. Original old stone houses line the road and testify to Turkey's traditional village life. The ancient city of Ephesus is approx 3 hours drive away and is well worth the visit.
Booking notes
Bookings can be made by email or telephone to the owners. A non-refundable deposit of £100 will secure the clients booking and the final balance, together with a refundable deposit of £75 to cover accidental damage, is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Rental costs include a cleaned apartment on arrival, all utilities, bed linen and towels (beach towels not included). Additional cleaning and laundry can be arranged at extra cost on site. Airport transfer approx £25 one way.
