The apartment is on a new, small development which has excellent facilities: 2 swimming pools, each with a children's separate area, landscaped gardens with a children’s play area, a bar and restaurant and a Turkish Bath. There are 3 balconies, the front one overlooking the bar and pools, the back one overlooking farmland. Other features include parking spaces, 24hr security, and safe deposit boxes. Bedlinen and towels are provided and cleaning is included during the season. The staff on the complex are very helpful and will make sure your holiday is everything you could wish for. There is a beach bus and good public transport as well as an accessible taxi service. The town of Side is a historical delight with many interesting ruins including an amphitheater and Roman Baths. There are many tours to nearby places of interest and boat trips to spot dolphins and turtles.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. The bar, restaurant and pools are not open from November through to May, hence the lower price for that period.
However the sea is warm well into the winter, the sun shines making the days lovely and warm and there are many restaurants and bars around so if you fancy a quiet, winter holiday it would be well worth booking!

Notes on accommodation
This apartment is on a very child friendly complex. There are Children's play area and children's paddling pools. The apartment is air-conditioned and very roomy. The balcony at the back, overlooks farmland and gets the morning sun. The front balcony is in shade until the afternoon, and is a lovely place to eat breakfast and any meal you happen to eat 'at home'. The complex is busy with holiday makers as half of it is run as a hotel, used by Scandinavian guests mainly. There is a reception/office where any queries or problems you may have, will be attended to, promptly and courteously.

Accessibility
The apartment is up one small flight of stairs so is therefore, unfortunately, not suitable for a wheelchair user.

Outside
There are communal gardens and seating areas. There are 2 swimming pools with many loungers around them. The bar and restaurant are in the middle of the complex with comfortable seating overlooking the pools. There is a table tennis table and childrens play equipment on the site.

Coast/Beach
There is a ten minute walk to the beautiful, turquoise Mediterranean sea with its miles of sandy beaches, although there is a free beach bus, which stops at the complex during the season. You can walk along the beach to Side Old Town or enjoy all the water sports activities offered there: paragliding, banana rides etc. There are beach cafes all along the beach, some charge for use of sunbeds. Moonlight beach sends a bus to Irem apartments so use that for free sunbeds.

Travel
The nearest airport is Antalya, which is about 60km from the apartment, approx a 40 min drive on the N400. It is a simple and easy drive with the beautiful Taurus Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop. We can arrange a pick up which will cost 120TL for 2-4 people, slightly more for 4 or over. You can arrange a car hire from the airport or your own transfers.Airlines that fly to Antalya from UK are Thomson and Thomas Cook, Easyjet, Onur Air, Turkish Airlines, Condor, First Choice, Monarch, Pega

Distances
Manavgat is the nearest town which can be reached by road taking about 15 minutes. A minibus (dolmus) passes the door which you can hop on and pay 2-3 TL for the journey. The Old Roman Town of Side is a 15 minute walk away, along the beach, (or call a taxi for 15? TL) and is full of historic buildings, shops, cafes and restaurants. There is an amphitheatre and a museum, which is in the old Roman Baths and is well worth a visit.

Further details
In Side town there are many restaurants and shops. There are banks with cash machines and supermarkets and small owner run grocery shops. There is a butcher's shop and a fish monger. There are many centres selling trips to various places and activities including quad biking and jeep safari. The 'Waterfall' is a must to visit as is a trip on the green lagoon and the Unimog safari.

Booking notes
Provisional bookings will be held for 2 weeks and then confirmed when a £50 deposit (per week) has been received. Full payment should be sent no later than 8 weeks before the travelling date.

'We enjoyed our stay so much - your beautiful apartment was wonderful and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We went into Side a few times and visited the enormous market on Saturday. I left my daughter and her boyfriend at Irem - they moved into a one bedroomed apartment for another week - they loved the pool and the beach together!'

'Just to let you know we had a great a great time at irem in your lovely apartment. Gorgeous weather. Did the walk along the beach from side four times, paddling all the way. Did some trips,pity the dolmus were not more frequent like we have found in other parts along the coast. I have stayed in places in mainland Greece, Greek islands, Cyprus, Portugal and USA but the staff at Irem were the best by a long way, so friendly. Over too quickly.'

About the owner
I live in London with my husband and our gorgeous copper labrador. My husband runs an environmental company and I am a retired teacher. I visit the apartment at least twice a year and love the locality and the great atmosphere at the complex.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought the apartment 3 years ago because a friend was involved in the development of the complex. We both love Turkey, the people there are so friendly and pleased to have visitors to their country. The sun always shines in Side and there is so much to see and do. We have never regretted buying it and spend at least 2 holidays each year there.

Unique benefits of the property
There is a bar and restaurant on site and the food and service is fantastic. The swimming pools are never overcrowded and there is always much to watch and enjoy. The Turkish Bath is a great experience and we frequently enjoy a massage to start the day. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away but if you can't bear to walk that far there is a bus that will take you there and deliver you home at the end of the afternoon. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance and we like to sample different ones each time.
