This (new 2005) air-conditioned apartment with its own private entrance is built in traditional Turkish style and occupies the whole of the first floor of a 3 storey block in the heart of this beautiful resort nestling at the foot of the Taurus mountains. Narrow streets lined with pretty whitewashed villas with shuttered windows twist down to the sea. Overhead hangs original ornately carved Ottoman balconies adorned with brilliantly coloured bougainvillea cascading down to the streets below. Kalkan is famous for its good food which you can enjoy in one of the many roof terrace restaurants while watching the sun set on Kalkan Bay. What more can I say, good food, good weather, friendly people and spectacular scenery.

Outside
This apartment has its own huge, private terrace with barbecue, loungers, table, chairs, parasol and swing - not forgetting the wonderful sea view over Kalkan Bay.
Pool shared with only 2 other apartments. Pool not suitable for non-swimmers - minimum 6 ft deep.
Coast/Beach
Kalkan has a very pretty beach within walking distance from the apartment (4-5 minutes) where you can hire loungers, parasols and pedalos. Patara Beach just 20 minutes by local (Dolmus) bus is a must with 17km of the most beautiful white sand where turtles come to lay their eggs. For the water sports enthusiasts look no further than the Kalkan Beach Clubs for boating, diving, scuba diving and canoeing. If you have never done it before then there are reasonably priced courses to teach you how.
Travel
Nearest airport Dalaman - 1.5 hour journey using newly opened tunnel. Transfers currently cost £35-£45 each way and we can provide assistance with arranging. Car is not necessary as once you are in Kalkan, everything is on your doorstep/within walking distance.
Distances
Once you arrive in Kalkan you will not want to leave. For those who are interested in history or sightseeing there are many attractions in this area.
Further details
Part of the Lycian Coast there are numerous historical sites to visit - Patara, Xanthos, Pinara, Thios and Myra.
There are boat trips to see the sunken city of Kekova.
All these sites are easily arranged through one of the local tour operators.
