Villa Pinara is a boutique style villa situated down a leafy lane behind old Gumusluk. The villa can accommodate 6-7 with 3 en-suite bedrooms, and is equipped with all modern comforts. There is a good sized private pool and plenty of terraced areas both for sunbathing and shady relaxation. The villa is surrounded by greenness, looking across the fields towards the village and the Greek islands beyond. Amongst the lemon, eucalyptus, cactus, pomegranate and fig trees and a tall ancient pine, you are sure to catch a glimpse of rural village life whilst breakfasting on the terrace. One of the features of the villa is there is no need for a car. A five minute stroll down the lane and through the groves will take you to the village for fresh bread from the bakery and other essentials. The beach and harbour-side restaurants of Gumusluk are a kilometre away and both Bodrum and other resorts can be reached from the bus-stop a few minutes walk up the lane. The villa has Wi-Fi and table tennis.

Notes on accommodation
No car is necessary for a stay here as the villa is a 5 minute stroll through the mandarin groves to old Gumusluk village (for essentials) and bus stop to the beach and other resorts. The villa has free Wi-Fi and table tennis. A welcome pack with 20 litres of drinking water is provided on arrival. An information pack containing useful local information and ideas for making the most of your holiday is provided. Beach towels are provided for your use. Logs for the fireplace can be provided on request. The roof terrace has fabulous 360 degree views over Gumusluk valley, the sea and Greek islands, and hills behind Gumusluk.

Accessibility
The villa is situated down a lane which slopes very gently from the main road. The location combined with the fact that there are only two steps up to the front door and two steps down to the pool and garden make the villa and pool area very accessible for guests with limited mobility. The twin bedded room with bathroom and walk-shower on the ground floor is a further asset.

Outside
From the French windows of the villa there is a shady terrace with a table and comfortable chairs for alfresco dining and a built-in barbeque. From here, two steps lead down to a charming garden with a spacious sun terrace with sun loungers around the good-sized pool (7x6m max, depth 1.5m). There are lovely views over mandarin and lemon groves, and mature trees provide shady relaxation areas. Table tennis is available in an area behind the villa. From the first floor balcony, stairs lead to the spacious roof terrace where you can enjoy wonderful 360 degree views and sunsets whilst sipping a aperitif. There is table tennis in an area behind the villa and private parking at the back of the villa.

Coast/Beach
The villa is 1km from Gumusluk harbour and beach and takes 15 minutes to walk to on the flat, or a minibus passes every 15 minutes from the road, a few minutes walk up the lane. Gumusluk beach still remains quiet by today's standards, there are little beach-side cafes and lokantas offering snacks and drinks and all have free sun-beds and parasols for use. Other local beaches are easily accessible on the local minibuses. See Further details for more information on Gumusluk's beach and harbour.

Special interest holidays
The owners live locally and can arrange private cultural tours (day-trips or longer) to Ephesus and many other wonderful and unforgettable archaeological sites, traditional villages and areas of outstanding natural beauty along the evocative and inspiring Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, or can advise you on routes and accommodation during your stay.

Travel
The transfer from Bodrum airport takes approximately 1 hour. We can arrange to collect you or advise on local car hire although a car is not essential for a stay here as the local village is just 5 minutes walk away. From the main road, just a couple of minutes walk up the lane, the dolmuses or shared minibuses run frequently every 15 minutes to the harbour and beach, as well as the main towns of Bodrum and Turgutreis, with connecting mini-buses to all of the villages and resorts in the area.

Distances
Old Gumusluk village with its bakery, shops, local lokantas and pharmacy (the chemist speaks good English) is a 5 minute walk away. Gumusluk beach and harbour are 1km away. Bodrum is 18km. Turgutreis is 6km. Yalikavak is 12km. Golfing facilities and Aquapark are 10km. All are accessible by minibuses with the bus stop located just a few minutes walk up the lane. Minibuses run every 15 minutes and operate a 24 hour service in high season.

Further details
Gumusluk is considered by many Turks and foreigners alike to be the prettiest and most unspoilt coastal village on the Bodrum peninsula. Hidden around the two bays of Gumusluk are the ruins of ancient Myndos, a large harbour town that existed here over two thousand years ago, and it is thanks to this that a preservation order has prevented the fishing village from becoming over-developed and has retained it's charm.

‘Rabbit Island’ is situated in between the two bays and can be reached by walking through shallow water along the ancient causeway: its resident population of rabbits that come out to play during the cooler evening hours are particularly popular with children. On the harbour side of Gumusluk, pretty much unchanged in the last 25 years, there are the famous fish restaurants, serving delicious meze (hot and cold starters made from fresh local produce), fresh fish, seafood and other traditional Turkish dishes, with views across to the Greek islands of Cos and Kalimnos. Home cooking such as vegetable stews, savoury pancakes, stuffed vine leaves and aubergines, is also available in the harbour at family-run lokantas. There is also an ATM located just behind the harbour area.

Other attractive resorts on the peninsula, with markets selling fruit and veg, local honey and olive oil and an array of wonderful cotton items amongst other things, harbours offering daily boat trips on traditional wooden gulets, beaches and restaurants are all easily accessible on local minibuses. Turgutreis, the nearest larger town for supermarket shopping and banking facilities, is 6km, approx 15-20 mins by bus, and offers a good selection of bars and restaurants. Golfing facilities and an Aqua-park are 20 mins away. Bodrum, with its imposing Crusader castle and world-renowned underwater archaeological museum, is 30 mins by bus and has all the facilities of a larger holiday resort with a wide selection of cafes, restaurants, shops, bars and clubs.

A deposit of 25% of the total rental cost is required to secure your booking. The balance of the cost must be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. A refundable security deposit of £150 is payable with the balance, which will be returned to you one week after you return to the UK.

Guest comments
Thank you for making our stay in your wonderful villa so memorable. The villa had everything we needed and your hospitality and support was very much appreciated.
We have recommended your villa to all our friends, and hope to return for another stay, next time for 2 weeks, as one was not enough, so much to do.

The villa is beautifully decorated, very well-equipped, and such pleasure to be in that some days we hardly left it at all! The pool was just lovely (especially after dark with the lights on) and the whole ambience very relaxing. I would certainly recommend the villa and Gumusluk as a great get-away-from-it-all destination. The Hancock Family, July '09
Just to say thanks again for a lovely stay in Turkey. We had a lovely relaxing time. The Krall Family, July '09
