Ground floor air-conditioned apartment leading onto large terrace with built-in barbeque, just 7metres from gorgeous swimming pool with children's section. Our large terrace, dripping in Bouganvillea, provides a sense of tranquillity and peace for all visitors. This unique, small development (8 privately-owned apartments) provides a sense of rustic charm and is quietly secluded. Our apartment is on the edge of this traditional fishing village, just 5-10 minutes walk to the restaurants, beaches, marina and fishing harbour, shops and bazaar. The village is very Turkish and holds a superb weekly market where you are made very welcome each Thursday. It's great fun to barter with the locals for fresh fruit, vegetables and clothing and with the strength of the pound against the Turkish Lira it's difficult to spend a lot! Our apartment has been lovingly furnished using local tradesmen to a very high standard indeed. Any visitor will be certain to return.

Changeover day
Preferably Saturdays but flexible.

Notes on accommodation
Our apartment is fully air-conditioned with solar panels for heating and hot water. No smoking is allowed inside the apartment. No pets allowed.
Accessibility
Our ground floor apartment is fully accessible for people with mobility problems.
Outside
To the outside is an extremely large terrace overlooking the mountains with built-in barbecue, dining table and chairs, attractive 3-piece wooden terrace furniture. The apartment is surrounded on all sides by private gardens and the terrace is dripping in Bouganvillae. 2 chaise-lounges and Turkish style floor cushions are for use on the lawns. An additional breakfast table is set up in the garden, adjacent to the 20 metre swimming pool with children’s section. 2 bicycles are available for your use. The apartment and garden is South-facing ensuring sunshine throughout the day whilst at the same time the terrace benefits from sea breezes bringing cool winds making it a blissful, relaxing environment even on the hottest day. The charm of the apartment is enhanced due to its location on the edge of the village, next to 'olde worlde' farms yet within 100 metres of a brand new, modern fitness centre and tennis club.
Coast/Beach
Our apartment is only a 5-10 minute walk from the nearest beach and brand new exclusive marina with supermarket and boutiques. Also the same distance away is the traditional Turkish fishing harbour and village with bazaar, shops, restaurants, bars/entertainment and open-air market. The attractive bay of Yalikavak stretches out to the edge of the Peninsula. Vehicles are not allowed access to the coast road which provides a safe environment for walking and cycling as far as you can see.
Golf
A brand new golf course has just opened half-way between Yalikavak and Bodrum approximately 10 minutes drive away. There is also another Golf complex near the airport 40 minutes away.
Travel
Conveniently located just 40 minutes from Bodrum airport. Private airport pickup can be arranged. Local car hire is available either prebooked from the airport or in the village.
Distances
Local Dolmus provides a bus service to all the local area, coastal and inland. Bodrum, Bitez, Gumbet with their distinctive attractions and night-life are all within 15km. The uniquely famous fish restaurant-lined seaside village of Gumusluk is just along the coast as is, in the opposite direction, Gundogan, the water sports centre of the area. The Private beachclubs of Xuma Beach and Dodo Beach are within access on the Peninsula.

Yalikavak is a very traditional Turkish fishing village with an abundance of charm and tranquillity. It provides a year-round experience of Turkish life and is a bustling and thriving village in its own right. It is the perfect place to escape and gain a true experience of the lazy, relaxed Turkish ethos for life ‘maybe tomorrow’! The sunsets over the Greek Island of Kos are magnificent every night whether taking an early evening walk, having a pre-dinner drink or eating at one of the many harbour or beach-side restaurants.
There are adequate shops of every kind, banks (with ATMs), post office and supermarkets within easy reach. Also, if required, there are numerous car and moped hire firms, taxis and a main bus terminal. Yalikavak is a haven waiting to fulfill many interests and hobbies. In Gumusluk there are the underwater walled ruins of ancient Myndos, in Bodrum there is the magnificent Crusader Castle and amphitheatre.
Excursions to Ephesus, Pumakule and Dalyman with their unique architectural interests are on hand. A short ferry ride of 30 minutes takes you for a day trip across to the Greek Island of Kos. The famous traditional Turkish wooden Gullett boats can be chartered for the day, 2/3 days, week or longer. These give you an unforgettable Turkish sea life experience through access to the magnificent Aegean coastline and islands.

Short lets and mid-week bookings are possible on request to the owner. 25% non-refundable deposit to secure when booking. Balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks prior to departure no refund. £100 refundable damage deposit before departure is required (signed cheque will be suitable and returned).
