Paradise found! If you are looking for a tranquil, quiet, get away from it all type of holiday, experiencing the real Turkish atmosphere and way of life this is the place for you. Villa offers all of this and the added benefit of being within easy access of all main towns and activities. Uzumlu is an unspoilt traditional Turkish working village -- like stepping back in time. The hub of Uzumlu village is the village square, and dotted around the square you will find the local mosque and hear the calling of Allah, arts and crafts - where you can actually watch the locals weaving on their looms in cotton, silk and wool, a bakery, shops and it has a Friday market where you can buy local produce, situated just outside the mosque. Uzumlu is known for its fine grapes and the word "uzum" means grapes, so why not taste the local wine, eat some Turkish cuisine at some of the restaurants in Uzumlu or if you want a more informal environment why not try the local "Pide" pizza cafe.

Outside
Villa has a garden with various fruit trees and grape vines.
Large terrace has outdoor furniture for eating al fresco style and bamboo furniture for relaxing. Also a separate area for sunbathing, there is a BBQ which also has a seating area close by, the private pool is approximately 45 sq.m. with 1.5m depth and has walk-in step.
Coast/Beach
Calis beach is 5km from the town centre and opposite Sovalye Island. Along the 4km sandy beach, there are hotels, pensions, camping sites and restaurants. It is a unique place to see the sunset. The Death Sea (Olüdeniz) described as the Paradise presented to the world as a gift of God has a sandy beach of 3km. You can swim in the natural lagoon behind the beach 10 months of the year.
Kumburnu National Park separates Olüdeniz and Belcek beach, 14km from Fethiye.

The villa is 50 min from Dalaman International airport.

Hisaronu - is the busier of the 2 villages and most restaurants, shops and bars are centred around 1 main street, whilst at the top of the village is a weekly market where it can be great fun choosing unusual gifts for those back home. Ovacik - is altogether quieter and more rural with splendid views of the surrounding pine clad mountains. The air here is usually cooler and fresher than at sea level, which can be very welcome at the height of the summer. Whichever resort you choose, getting between them is very easy as dolmus minibuses run between all three resorts. Alternatively you can walk between the centre of Hisaronu and Ovacik in about 15 minutes. Olu Deniz - is one of the most photographed resorts in Turkey and over the years has probably featured on more holiday brochure covers than anywhere else in the world. Wisely, when Turkish tourism was in its infancy the local authorities realised how precious this place was and made it a conservation area, forever protecting the stunning shoreline and village from over development. The village resort is snuggled behind a curved strip of beach that forms an almost complete circle around a natural blue lagoon. Because of the limits on development all the accommodation in Olu Deniz are inland but within easy reach of the resort centre and the fabulous beach. Even though the beach is part of the conservation area there are areas set aside for waterspouts such as scuba diving, canoes and pedaloes. Fethiye - is one of the most popular resorts due to its extreme loveliness. Set on a wide bay, strewn with many islands and has an outstanding and busy marina where you can hire private boats or day trips at very reasonable prices. The ancient name of the city is Telmessos and you will see a fortress on the hill overlooking the city, which was built by knights of Rhodes. Fethiye is known for its rock tombs carved into the faces of the cliffs by the Lycians.
Booking notes
A 20% deposit will be required with booking. Balance is payable 6-8 weeks before departure. A security deposit of £200 is also required and returned once a complete inventory check has been carried out upon your departure. Airport transfers and car hire, which is recommended, can be arranged at very reasonable and competitive rate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Kekik; it was clean & well equipped. We loved the local area and found the Turkish people very friendly. It was essential to have a car and if prepared to drive there is plenty to do and see to suit all ages. Otherwise we simply enjoyed relaxing around the pool. And booking again for 2 weeks for summer 2009!
