Garden House and Goldsmiths House are for rent individually or together. Both houses have beautiful large private gardens and are situated in a quiet street. The properties are perfect for anyone wishing to stay away from the hustle and bustle of a busy town. 5 minutes walk to the centre of town and all the main sites. Garden House sleeps 4 extremely comfortably and has a beautiful inside veranda over looking the garden, It also has an outside veranda with open fire place and BBQ, reached through the fully modern kitchen. Garden House has one large bedroom with an extensive library and a living room come bedroom, with a very comfortable double sofa bed. Goldsmiths House sleeps 4 in two beautiful bedrooms, There is a wonderful inside veranda with dining area overlooking the garden, that can be opened in summer. This house has two bathrooms one in the garden and modern kitchen. Also a fully equipped separate goldsmiths workshop ideal for artists to work and holiday.

For use of central heating there is a charge of 20% of the weekly rental charge. Winters are not terribly cold but if needed it is available at this price. (I am afraid electricity and water are very expensive in Turkey).

Goldsmith House (Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms)

Two beautiful very spacious bedrooms, one with double bed, second with double/twin beds. With an amazing ambiance these bedrooms both have wonderful features, the walls are made from beautiful old stone and brick, both with a very modern feel. There is a fully modern kitchen with dining area for 4. Wonderful inside veranda with glass doors overlooking the garden which can be fully opened in summer, there is plenty of dining space here and a fantastic place to sit both summer and Winter. There is a spacious front garden which has an open fire and BBQ with comfortable garden furniture and the back garden has a swimming pool, shared with Garden House. Goldsmith House has a beautiful modern bathroom and a separate bathroom in the garden. Goldsmith House has the unique feature of having a separate and fully equipped Gold/Silversmith workshop, ideal for artists who would like to work and have a holiday at the same time. Plenty of parking space in front of the property. |

Notes on accommodation
Both Garden House and Goldsmith House are rentable individually or together.
Each house is fully centrally heated, cool in summer and warm in Winter.
Garden House and Goldsmiths house are situated right next door to each other, divided by a garden fence, they are not overlooked by one another. Each property has it own back and front garden.
The swimming pool is situated in Goldsmiths House back garden and is accessible through Garden Houses garden gate.
The houses are very child friendly and the swimming pool is raised, so no danger of children falling in.
Both Garden House and Goldsmith House are situated in a very pretty older part of town, which has many beautiful buildings.
There are several restaurants close by and also local shops selling household needs also many supermarkets and stores.
Banking is no problem at all, there are 8 banks with cash machines in town where it is possible to draw money.
The post office is also situated in the centre.
Accessibility
I am afraid the houses are not suitable for wheel chairs, there are several steps leading up to both houses from the garden.
Outside
Both the properties have extremely spacious front and back gardens. Goldsmith House has a small to medium sized swimming pool that is shared with next door Garden House. Both houses have comfortable outside furniture and sun lounges. There is an open fire place in both houses as well barbecues. Both gardens have many beautiful trees and shrubs and are host to some wild tortoises and birds in the area.
Coast/Beach
Pamucak Beach is a virtually unspoilt golden sandy beach, one end there are several 5* hotels and a huge water park, Aqua Fantasy, the other end nothing, it is an extremely quiet beach. Pamucak beach is the closest to Selcuk, 8km from town, it can be reached with the local minibus, dolmus, 10 minute journey.
To walk to Pamucak it takes approx one hour along a totally flat road, half the way has a nice walk route. By car there are many beautiful coves close by. Day boat trips from Kusadasi.

Selcuk is a perfect place to stay for people interested in culture, religion and walking.
Travel
Izmir Adnan Menderes international and domestic airport is 1 hour from Selcuk, has regular direct flights from all around Europe and the world. British Airways fly direct to Izmir from London. The domestic airport has regular connections all around Turkey. Kusadasi has daily boats to Samos, Greek Island. Good day trip. Selcuk has many local buses and mini buses travelling all around Turkey. A hire car is not essential but very nice. Enquire when booking for prices & airport transfers.
Distances
Both Garden House and Goldsmiths house are 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and within walking distance from most of the ancient sites, most being virtually on the door step. Kusadasi is a rather spoilt resort town is 18 kilometres from Selcuk, good for anyone wanting some lively night life, can be reached by local mini bus. Day trips to Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Aphrodisias, Miletos, Priene, Didyma and many other amazing ancient sites can be reached by hire car or local bus.
Further details
Selcuk has all the necessary shopping facilities, banks, restaurants etc, and there are some very good restaurants in town, as well as some of the surrounding villages. Every Saturday there is a beautiful local market selling fresh produce and anything that you could need during your stay.
Guests will be met by Alison, the property manager, who is fluent in both English and Turkish, she will be available throughout your stay to help with any queries, provide information and if needed to make travel/trip arrangements.
The main attractions are the historical sites locally at Ephesus, St John's basilica, Virgin Mary's House, Seven sleepers and Selcuk museum all only a few minutes drive away.
Selcuk is also an excellent base to visit some of the other major attractions in this part of Turkey including Aphrodisias, Miletus, Metropolis, Priene and Didyma. All within 1-2 hours drive. Further afield, to Pamukkale and Heirapolis are well worth visiting.
Fantastic yacht trips from Fethiye and Marmaris can be arranged also day trips to Samos, Patmos in the Greek Islands. Please enquire for further details and if you have any travel requirements.
Booking notes
Prices are in pounds sterling per 7 day week. For longer rentals please enquire by mail. A deposit of 25% of the rental is required on confirmation of reservation with the balance due six weeks before the commencement of the rental. There are no refunds for cancellations unless we are able to re-let the property. Minimal rental is for one week. For hire of cars and also internal flights ask for details of good deals when mailing.
