Accessibility
Not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are too many stairs and no lifts.
Outside
The complex has well tendered gardens surrounding the complex, there are 4 shared swimming pools some with bar terraces including a paddling area for the kids and patio areas.
Coast/Beach
Maveshir beach is just 5 minutes walk. It has a children’s play area and a few outdoor cafes with beautiful views of the coastline. Altinkum beach is 10 minutes by bus provided free throughout the main season. There are 3 beaches with bars, entertainment and night life close by and are nice for an evening stroll in the summer sun.
Travel
Bodrum 80km 1 hour by bus £20.00 return per person by bus. Izmir 150km 2 hour by bus £20.00 return per person by bus. Car hire not needed as buses run frequently and are very affordable.
Distances
Didim 2km. Apollon Temple 4km. Bodrum town 2 hours mini-bus. Kusadasi/Ephassus 2 hours mini-bus. New service: Ferries to Bodrum, Greek islands - Kos. Local boat trips to bays, islands, fishing, banana boats - all great fun!
Further details
Local shops offer basic needs/requirements. Supermarkets - Carrefour and Migros are the two largest on Ataturk Blvd - the main street towards Didim. Restaurants and cafes are everywhere. Try the local ones for better prices and have lunchtime in Didim. Fish is served in many restaurants and is generally good quality. Fruit and veg is always so fresh and best bought from the local market in Maveshir just 10 mins walk from the apartment. There is freshly baked bread locally as well. Saturday market in Didim not to be missed! - fruit/veg picked before coming to market, clothing and anything else you can think of. Try your bargaining skills.
Banks: HSBC, Akbank, Garanti and all main banks are on main street opposite Carrefour. Adverts for money changing in shops - usually same rate as bank - easier and certainly quicker! Scooters and bicycles are available for hire.
Ice cream lovers - walking to Dolphin Square from the boats is a cool cafe which sells good coffee, cakes and a variety of ice creams. Toddlers play area here too.
For those who like to see as much of the area as possible, there are booking offices for trips to Bodrum - beautiful area with interesting castle; Kusadasi and Ephesus with its marvellous historical remains; Pamukali - frozen pools - amazing etc. All trips are good value and always entertaining! You will find the Turkish people so friendly and helpful.
