Xanadu is situated on the fringe of a traditional Turkish village where life goes on at a slow pace. The villagers tend their olive groves, vineyards and animals. Most of the village is hidden from view, behind the forest, but the call to prayer, from the small mosque is a daily reminder of its existence. The lounge is impressive with its high domed feature roof and open views on all sides. The modern kitchen opens to a summer kitchen where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the valley, whilst cooking. Breakfast here is a delight! The villa and surrounding terraces are tiled in granite. The swimming pool has an inbuilt Jacuzzi, outside rain shower and large terracing with comfortable seating areas. There are two raised Turkish seating platforms in the garden, with a shady hammock under the trees. The large garden is surrounded by olive groves, a small vineyard, forest and hills. The only sound is the wind in the forest, the cries of the animals and birds and the nightly scops owls.

Further details
Gocek has a traditional village atmosphere with cobbled streets and upmarket shops, many tasteful restaurants and a few bars, but nothing too noisy. There is no public beach, but it has a beautiful marina where you can hire gullets or yachts by the day or week. It’s a world apart from Turkeys busier resorts. The Gulf of Gocek and its friendly marina is one of the Mediterranean's best sailing spots.
Oludeniz Lagoon It is a sheltered lagoon of great beauty, almost totally cut off from the sea, at the northern end of a long cove. Stretching from the lagoon to the southern end of the cove is a long, sandy public beach.
You can go on a riverboat cruise from nearby Dalyan and see the tombs. Stop for lunch at one of the many waterside restaurants, and visit the hot springs, mud
baths and Turtle Beach..
Gocek is situated at the north west corner of the Gulf of Fethiye, which in antiquity was known as the Gulf of Glaukos after the famous Lycian general who fought in the Trojan Wars. This small, up-market, marina town is blessed with a magnificent setting, backed by mountains and pine forests, and looks out over the tiny islands scattered over the gulf known as the Twelve Islands.
There are no mainstream package-tour operators in Gocek - the town caters predominantly for the yachting community and independent visitors. Gocek’s guests come either from the yachts and boats in the harbour or the handful of boutique hotels and villas in the region. This makes for an eclectic mix of visitors of all nationalities.
The many waterside restaurants, cafés and bars provide a laid-back atmosphere where you can happily wile away a day watching the world go by.
In the backstreets and around the town square there is a surprising array of shops - colourful greengrocers, fascinating art and craft shops, carpet bazaars, exclusive jewellery shops and designer boutiques. Also deserted Greek village of Kayakoy. The subject of Louis de Berniere's book 'Birds without Wings'
