Notes on accommodation
The apartments L'Olivier and Le Mimosa have air conditioning and central heating. Le Citronnier has electric heating and air conditioning. Families with children are specially welcome - all our terraces are sealed off, so you can leave your children playing without worries. We can also provide kots and high chairs for the very young ones. In our DVD library you will also find some entertainment for children of all ages.
Outside
Our apartments L'Olivier and Le Mimosa have two terraces each facing East and West. Le Citronnier has a terrace facing East. All terraces facing East are furnished.
Coast/Beach
Villa Zouila is at a 10 minutes' walk from one of the most appreciated sandy beaches of Tunisia. The beach has many different areas: immediately where you arrive when walking from our house there is small protective bay where families choose to stay since this area is perfect for small children. A bit further up, more sportive attractions are on offer during the high season: water ski, banana boat and paraglide.
Travel
The closest international airport is in Monastir, 50 km from Mahdia. Monastir is mainly served by charter flights. It is also possible to fly in to Tunis Carthage, 220 km from Mahdia. We have quite a good grip of how to find a cheap flight from the UK - just ask! No matter where you arrive, our driver will be happy to pick you up! We are also cooperating with a car rental agency and can give you a price quote without obligations.
Distances
El Jem 45km. Monastir 50km. Sousse 60km. Kairouan 110km.
Tunis: 220km. We highly recommend a visit to the Roman amphitheatre in El Jem and a trip to Kairouan, both declared World Heritage by UNESCO. And for people with a sense for adventure, a trip into the Sahara desert will certainly be remembered for a long time!
Further details
There is a minimarket 200 metres from our house and the closest bakery is just a few minutes' walk away. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the old city of Mahdia, where you still find a number of traditional silk factories and several quaint coffee houses. Mahdia is also very popular for its balneotherapy. We will help you to find the best places.
Booking notes
A deposit of 30% of the total rental is required to confirm a booking. The remaining amount is to be paid 3 weeks before arrival. During the high season 2012, one traditional evening meal is included.
