Haad Salad is situated on the very unspoilt N.W. coast and is a must for anyone looking to really "get away from it all", but still be less than twenty minutes away from parties! Set in the exclusive tranquil Bay Residence area, this 2 year old villa is accessed by a private concrete road and sits on a hill side overlooking the bay of Haad Salad. Glass fronted to maximise the incredible views across the bay and all the way up to Koh Tao. There are 4 chill areas and experience amazing sunsets at most times of the year from the sala on the roof terrace. Features include a private infinity pool with teak decking around, poolside fridge, bbq area and dvd/projector for music by the and full size screen pool for nighttime video watching!. There is a fully equipped kitchen & washing machine.The bright spacious lounge includes TV/DVD, music system plus a vast selection of DVDs, CDs and books. Two double bedrooms have A/C and fans. Parking for 2 vehicles and many scooters on private drive.

Notes on prices
Rental fee covers all sensible use of electricity which means the bedroom a/c units are not left on all day!! Extra units charged at 8baht per unit. I have only implemented this charge so as to encourage guests to remember we are an island and resources are limited!! No guest has yet gone over the limit!
Changeover day
I am flexible with check in/out times depending on whether the villa is rented either side of your stay. I will meet you at the pier on your arrival with transport for you and your luggage.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is bright, spacious and kept in excellent condition and was repainted with all wood areas re stained in December 2011. It's unclutterd and you have a real feel for space throughout. I promsie you will feel at home immediately! The interior floors are now semi glossed and look really lovely! It's minimal, and though very western in it's build, it feels very Thai inside with photos of Buddha and even The King! Both bedrooms have a/c and fans plus a fan in the lounge. The property is being constantly upgraded in respect of additional comforts for its guests. More photos available on request. Although glass fronted, the lounge is kept cool by black "net" blinds which deflect the sun. The sun is on the pool all day, it's peaceful, and at night, experience total silence on the roof terrace-it really is that tranquil!
Many of my guests have said the villa has "a magical quality" and that the photos in no way do it justice.
Accessibility
The property is generally not suited for people with mobility problems or very small children due to the steps down to the pool.
Outside
The property is surrounded by coconut palms and trees which help to keep the villa very private, so much so, that if nude sunbathing/swimming is your thing, then you can do that no problem!! Steps cut from natural stone take you down to the private 5x3 metre pool with sun loungers and pool shower whilst under the house is "the den" with dvd/projector, mats, hammock, fridge, projector, cd/dvd player, big screen, amp & speakers, bbq. dining area, poolside beakers, plates. cutlery and towels. The pool is cleaned twice a week. The roof terrace features a sala, hammock and couches with table. You will enjoy sea views from every level, even from the pool. There is ample outside lighting plus security light. There is a small stream right next to the property, which after a period of rain becomes almost your own private waterfall!!
Coast/Beach
The beautiful white sand beach of Haad Salad is a five minute walk away or one minute drive. It boasts clear blue waters, a good selection of bars and restaurants and several local open air beach massage places (for around 250baht). The slightly livelier beach of Haad Yao is a few minutes drive, and it's 5 mins to the beautiful Mae Haad beach and it's tiny island Koh Ma(amazing for snorkeling) From Haad Salad or Haad Yao, take a longtail boat to Bottle Beach, arguably the best on the island.
Travel
Koh Samui is the nearest airport. The Seatran pier is just 5 mins from the airport with boat departures at 8am and 1.30pm and takes 30 mins to Thongsala, Phangans main town. Then it is just a fifteen minute drive to the villa. The Lomprayah departs at 8.00am,12.30pm & 5.30pm. If possible, book your flight into Samui that coincides with boat departure times. Allow one hour from touchdown to the pier.
Distances
Yoga, beach massages, diving, waterfalls, elephant trekking, beaches & snorkelling are on the doorstep. Haad Yao Fitness is a brand new awesome fitness centre with a weight room, cardio area, sauna, bar & restaurant just opened in neighbouring Haad Yao-a 3 min drive away. Local restaurants are all a 5 minute walk from the villa and you are just a 7 minutes drive from the fishing village of Chaloklumm and 30 mins from the famous Full Moon Party in Haadrin.
Further details
What makes this villa special compared with others on the island? Firstly, access is 100% by a concrete road. Many others are located up dirt roads which can be very difficult to get to and from. The villa is also set in a privately owned residence where every house build has to be approved by the developer, thus there are no ugly buildings, multi coloured roofs etc. At the moment there are just 6 houses on the 13 acre site, each one totally unique and indivual. Most other villa developments have "estate" like builds and are not only identical, but offer very little privacy. So here, you will indeed feel "exclusive"!!
There is no doubt that the NW coast is the destination of choice for those looking for something special. You get back what you give here and a smile goes a long way! You will always be greeted with a smile and warm welcome at the local shops, bars & restuarants (there are no Burger Kings or Starbucks!)and you will experience real Thai hospitality. I will be happy to arrange diving for you with the best school on the island-Sail Rock Divers. It is a P.A.D.I. 5 Star I.D.C. dive centre and their Dive Masters and Instructors speak a variety of languages. Yoga Retreat & Pyramid Yoga(both walking distance) are very close and have 2 classes a day at 9am and 4.00pm. Weang Sai waterfall is fabulous and within a 5 minute drive as is the elephant trekking. You don't need to have to take a ride on these beautiful animals to be able to feed them or have photos taken with them, but they are working animals, well looked after and it certainly is an experience!! Thai cooking classes are also nearby. There are local ATM's in Haad Yao and Haad Salad with banks & the main supermarkets of Tesco Lotus & Big A, along with the street fresh food markets, a 15 minute drive away in Thongsala. The island boats so much more than the Full Moon party! There are 2 Half Moon parties plus good regular "club nights" every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As the last leg of our honeymoon we chose koh phangan and Grahams villa in particular for tranquillity & seclusion- it didn't disappoint. Before even arriving a the villa graham was extremely helpful. The villa was everything and more than we imagined. The fantastic split level design providing privacy and swathes of natural light in all the main rooms - I don't think I've woken to a more stunning view in any bedroom. A great villa, a great location and a host to put the icing on the cake.

We stayed at this beautiful Villa over Christmas for two weeks and found it one of the most relaxing holidays we have had, it was great to chill out at our own private retreat and not have to leave the villa if we chose. The daily massages at Tuks massage on Haad Salad made it hard to come back to reality. A beautiful house, great host in Graham and all we could want in a perfect place in paradise.

About the owner
I have been a professional DJ all my life having worked for both Capital FM and more recently Kiss100FM in London. I relocated to Thailand three years, got blessed with finding an amazing Thai architect and builder and my dream home was finished around eighteen months overlooking the beautiful bay of Haad Salad located on the peaceful North West Coast of this Paradise Island. I still DJ and am currently 3/4 through my first novel.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I run my business here on Koh Phangan and have a Thai Company. This allows me to buy land, which I did and have a villa built. I got truly blessed by being introduced to a local Thai architect with whom I spent a lot of time. He got to know me and what I wanted for my dream home.
As the island is only 22km by 12km, nowhere is far to go, but this North West coast has everything I need from great beaches and snorkeling, yoga school, gym and diving.
Unique benefits of the property
Its extremely peaceful, especially at night, lay on the sala on the roof terrace and enjoy the stars. The pool area is fully lit (and the pool itself) and you even enjoy sunbathing nude pretty much if that is your thing! There is a now a 24 hour 7/11 less than 5 mins away by car/scooter.
