Hua Hin is the location of the Kings Summer Palace, which confers an air of respectability not found in other resorts, making it ideal for families with kids. There are excellent beaches, golf courses and other attractions such as elephant rides within easy reach and a free minibus service to the town (10 minutes) from 10am to 7pm. The town has many excellent Thai restaurants, especially seafood, together with most European food and a large Tesco with fast food, coffee shops and other shopping. A weekly cleaning service is included together with water and electricity (subject to fair use). Satellite TV is available at minimal extra cost via a prepayment card. No smoking in the house please but there is a covered seating area just across the pool and a small patio.

Minimum rental 1 week, security deposit 5000 Thai baht to be paid locally on arrival and refunded on departure less cost of any loss or damage.
Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible subject to fitting in with existing bookings. Keys should be collected between 09:00 to 19:00 unless otherwise arranged.

Notes on accommodation
This is an excellent house for kids where they can easily be supervised from the house when using the pool.
Outside
There is a small rear yard with a clothes dryer. A small covered patio to the front of the house overlooking the pool has a second dining table and 4 chairs.
The pool has a small shallow pool for non swimmers and a covered seating area.
Car parking is provided near the house.
Coast/Beach
Hua Hin has good sandy beaches with some rocks. The beach has a gradual slope and is suitable for kids swimming. Boat and jet ski hire etc is available.
Golf
Hua Hin has many good golf courses within a short drive.
Travel
Hua Hin is accessible by taxi, minibus or public buses from the airport (Bangkok). Taxis and minibuses usually operate on fixed prices for the journey (check first). The public taxi (signed from arrivals) is normally cheaper than 'limousine services' offered by touts. If driving allow around 2.5 hours once you have crossed the river in Bangkok, after which the roads are good but normally busy. It is also possible to go by train from Bangkok if you desire a more leisurely journey.

Further details
Hua Hin is well served by local and western shops including a large shopping centre based around the Lotus (Tesco)supermarket. There is a night market selling clothes and souvenirs. A large number of restaurants serve food from a variety of countries and there is excellent seafood. Thai food to eat "in" or take away is available in the local market too. Elephant rides are available nearby. ATMs take UK bank cards for withdrawals and there are several internet cafes in the town.
Trains run from central Bangkok (around 4 hours) with rail connection from the airport.
Buses run from the new Southern Bus Station in Bangkok (Saai Tai Mai) which is on the west side of the river (opposite side to the the city centre), best accessed by taxi.

Booking deposit 25%, balance 8 weeks before start of the rental period. Refunds as pricing table. Payments by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal (fee may be payable). Rental fee includes for electricity charges not exceeding 1000 Thai baht per week (normally adequate), water and bottled gas. Security deposit of 5000 Thai baht on arrival to cover key loss , satellite TV card, damage to property / contents and any excess electricity costs. Please enquire for prices beyond 01/01/12.

About the owner
This is our holiday home in Hua Hin and was our retreat from Bangkok at the weekends. Our 3 daughters really enjoy the pool and often preferred it to the beach.
As we are now in the UK and not using it frequently we have decided to offer it as a holiday let rather than leave it empty for most of the year. It is equipped with everything we have found necessary. The keys are held by one of our neighbours there.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Hua Hin is a great place for a holiday and easily accessible via the new motorway from Bangkok. It has all the facilities you may need but is far less busy than Pattaya and just a little further from Bangkok.
We particularly like the variety of food available and the compact town centre where most places are accessible on foot.

Unique benefits of the property
The free minibus service operates from the house to the town and beach during the daytime. It is normally available for going out in the evening by arrangement with the driver for a small tip. Taxis are readily available for the short trip home.
