Coast/Beach
Bophut fishing village is a short drive away with a quiet beach and laid back atmosphere. There is a yoga centre and inexpensive spas, friendly seafood and some Gallic owned restaurants look directly onto the bay.
A 15 mins drive will take you to the main tourist resort of Chaweng with a gently sloping gorgeous white sand beach and clear blue waters. All watersports are available here and a large selection of bars and resturants. There is also a lively shopping district.
Travel
Car hire is recommended. Koh Samui can be reached by flight from Bangkok about 90 mins. The villa is 10 mins drive. It is also possible to take an overnight train or bus to Surat Thani and then a boat to Koh Samui.
Further details
Boat trips can be arranged to the neighbouring islands of Ko Phan Ngan or to Koh Tao famous for scuba diving or to the Ang Thong National Marine Park. There is a large Tesco supermarket for all your needs which also sells good local food and has a great sushi counter.
