Villa Maria is a beautiful luxury villa located in the southern part of Phuket within 3 minutes drive to renowned Nai Harn beach. It comprises of 600sqm under roof and is set in a private development of three villas nestled between a luscious rubber plantation and coconut grove. It is a perfect hideaway for a large group or 2/3 families. It comprises of 5 double bedrooms all en-suite over two levels. The ground floor is split between a 2 bedroom semi self contained area with its own kitchenette, living and dining room. The main living area covering half the downstairs area comes with a fully fitted western kitchen, a 3m dining room table, 3 large leather sofas and a home theatre system. All rooms downstairs open onto a sundeck, sala, stunning child friendly pool set in beautiful landscaped gardens. The sala with kitchenette is ideal for alfresco dining. Upstairs comprises of 3 further double bedrooms, a cloakroom, study and lounge opening onto a balcony overlooking the pool area.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is tastefully furnished with a mixture of contemporary furniture, Chinese antiques, asian artworks and Thai silk which complement the rich wooden flooring throughout the whole of upstairs. Our in house staff can prepare your favourite Thai dishes and Western breakfasts which include fresh fruit, juices, bacon and eggs. Food can be purchased at cost from local markets/supermarkets. Depending on your requirements a reliable driver with air-conditioned minibus or car will pick you up from the airport and can be organised for the duration of your stay. A welcome pack is included on arrival including tea, coffee, water, juice, bread, milk and fruit. Babysitting is available at a nominal fee. The villa is very child friendly with a detachable pool fence, high chairs, baby cot, four pull-out beds, pool toys, ipod docking station, table tennis table and an extensive selection of DVDs.
Accessibility
The semi self contained downstairs ground floor area has 2 bedrooms, kitchenette and living room with easy access to the pool. This area is accessed through one set of stairs.
Outside
Villa Maria is approached via a secluded road that services the three villas in the development. It has a double carport for secure parking. Complete privacy is secured in the walled private garden containing a stunning pool with outdoor shower. It is accessed through bi-folding doors throughout all rooms downstairs. Our sala lends itself to perfect alfresco dining with a 10 seater dining table, kitchenette and BBQ. The balcony is a perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach with views of the coconut grove and rubber tree plantations. All outdoor furniture is of a contemporary design with 5 sun loungers placed around the pool to help make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Coast/Beach
Nai Harn is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and is a perfect place to relax. It is located about a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from the villa. Speed boats and long tail boats are available for hire on a daily basis from Rawai and Chalong, a 5 and 10 minute drive away respectively. There are many tropical islands to visit a short distance away such as Lon, Bon or Coral Island.
Golf
Phuket is a great destination for golfers with 6 international standard courses set amidst idyllic surroundings. Loch Palm Golf Course: built around a 48 acre lake, this 18 hole golf course is conveniently located approximately half way between Patong and Phuket city, in the green centre of the island about 20 minutes from Villa Maria. Phuket Country Club: Built in 1989 over a reclaimed mine the Phuket County Club was the first championship standard course to be built in Phuket and has a total of 27 holes. Again it is located about 20 minutes from Villa Maria towards the centre of the island between Central Shopping area and Patong.
Travel
Phuket International Airport is about 50 minutes away. We will arrange airport transfers and our English representative is on hand to solve any problems. Car rental or motor bike hire is recommended or we can organise an air-conditioned vehicle with driver if you want a stress free holiday.
Distances
The villa is located in the south east of the island and is a great base for visiting Kata, Karon, Patong and Phuket. All tourist attractions are easily reached and there are a host of activities available locally. With a number of local markets selling fresh produce, mini markets, supermarkets and bakeries a short drive from the villa there is no need to travel to the busy shopping areas for provisions.
Further details
Phuket has a wide range of activities to keep guests of all ages entertained. Suggested activities locally include elephant trekking, monkey and snake shows, quad bike park, golf, fishing trips, boat hire and horse riding. Phuket is a beautiful destination to explore marine life and has many world class dive sites. Diving excursions can be arranged through reputable dive companies, mainly located in Chalong a short 10 minute drive away. Nai Harn is a spectacular pristine beach and is a perfect place to unwind, whether it be having a massage or sipping sun downers in one of the many restaurants overlooking the beach. It is an ideal spot for surfing at the end of the dry season and is an ideal secluded bay for mooring yachts. It is also possible to hire kayaks, take sailing lessons or go parascending. Excellent night life is not far away in the lively spots of Karon, Kata and Patong about 20 to 30 minutes away. There is an extensive range of both Thai and international restaurants locally. People flock from all over Phuket to enjoy sun downers at Promthep Cape, the southern most tip of the island. There are two major shopping malls in Phuket, Central festival is located in the centre of the island and Jungceylon in Patong. Both are large international shopping and entertainment centres with cinemas, restaurants, international and local shops. Many sporting enthusiasts come from all over the world to train at the Muay Thai camps locally. Lessons can be taken on a half day basis.
Booking notes
Villa Maria rates are on a per night basis and are inclusive of chef, housekeeper, gardener/pool man, airport transfers and welcome pack. An initial deposit of 50% is required and the full payment is due 30 days before guests arrival. Payment is by electronic transfer or Paypal. Cancelation charges apply: more that 90 days - all deposit refundable. 45-89 days - 20% of full price is non refundable. 30-44 days - 50% of full price is non refundable. For 29 days and less - 100% is non refundable.

About the owner
Originally from Ireland I moved to London in 1997 after spending 2 years in South Africa. I currently live in Hong Kong with my husband and two children. When not looking after the family I work part-time as an Optometrist at one of the universities here in Hong Kong.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We decided to buy a villa in Phuket after spending a great family Christmas there. With just over a 3 hour direct flight away it is the ideal place to escape the busy lifestyle in Hong Kong. Nai Harn is possibly the best beach on the island, safe for swimming, unspoiled and untouched by commercialism seen elsewhere in the island. There is a large expat community locally so a good selection of International restaurants not to mention great Thai down at the beach. There are many activities locally to keep all the family amused ensuring a great holiday for all. We particularly love hiring a speedboat and exploring the islands around Phuket. The snorkeling is fantastic not to mention the crystal clear waters of the Andamen Sea.
Unique benefits of the property
After purchasing the Villa we completely renovated it and added an extension. We wanted the villa to accommodate two families comfortably so that we could entertain friends and family when we are there on holidays. With two young children we designed it as child friendly as possible making sure that there is some quiet areas for adults. Our children love coming to Phuket and really enjoy hanging out at the villa. Our two full-time staff, Dui and Na have been with us since we bought the villa and the level of service they provide is fantastic. Dui is such a great Thai cook we find that guests want to eat in most evenings and retire to the balcony for a night cap. This really is a great relaxing place to spend your holiday. Testament to this is the number of repeat customers we get. Enjoy!
