Both our villas are traditionally built from local sand, coral stone and mangrove poles, with Cyprus wooden plank floors surrounded by elevated walkways and large verandas each capped by a magnificent Makuti (coconut leaf) roof. The main entrance is across the main veranda and through traditionally carved Zanzibari doors into the very large living rooms which are beautifully decorated in mixes of tastefully choosen furnishings from modern to original Zanzibar antiques and African traditional spears and shields. Both villas are in colonial style with all modern gadgets. The surrounding gardens are quite private and full of African wildlife giving a wonderful peace, WiFi. The central swimming pool are just 25m away and is exclusive to these 2 villas offering a great place to spend those book reading days or playing with the kids in the pool. A great place for evenings with the BBQ’s, and big dining table and bar area, all this just a few minutes away from the best beach on Zanzibar

“Perfect!”
October 17, 2011
We stayed at Mr Todays in October 2011 for 10 nights
We chose the place initially for its location and the excellent communication I had with Ian Rodger when enquiring.
We were after somewhere that was secluded, private and relaxing with the option to go out in the evenings for drinks and food and this villa gave it all to us.
The accommodation was just perfect and with only 2 of us in the villa we had lots of room but would also be plenty of room if 2 families or 2 couples stay

Ian at home in Africa
About the owner
My name is Ian Rodger I was born in England in 1961. I left on a backpacking trip in 1989 to Africa, My goal was to cross the Sahara from West to East and then from the most northern point of Egypt to the most southern point of South Africa, I did this by hitchhiking and walking and some public transport. After my wanderings through Africa I arrived at my final goal 2 years later. By this time I had fallen in love with Africa and decided to find work and stay longer. I have been investing and developing sustainable projects like Zanzibar villas Ltd ever since. I always work together with local partners in this case Mr. Ali Top. The Villas are real home from home. We have built all our villas with our love for Africa, the atmosphere, sounds, people, bush wildlife and white sandy beaches
Year purchased: 2003
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Based on a philosophy of working in harmony with the Paje population and landscape we have fast become a strong economic contributor to the area. We only use local builders, materials and traditional methods to build by. This philosophy is also reflected in the landsite for the villas estate, as we care for and preserve the natural wildlife (such as Dik-diks) and flora.
Zanzibar Villas ltd is developing an exclusive community and investment opportunity in this highly desirable east coast part of the Island. Situated minutes away from one of the most magnificent beaches Zanzibar has to offer. The Villas estate is within easy walking distance of the all village shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants. It is an ideal location to build your dream holiday villa or investment property.
Unique benefits of the property
Specializing in creating private luxury villas we are involved in a unique project here in the sleepy seaside village of Paje to create peaceful, attractive, convenient private residences for those wishing to invest in the beautiful island of Zanzibar.
Set within a green area supporting local wildlife the estate is fully secured and serviced with proper infrastructure including transformer, silent backup generator, water wells satellite TV and wireless Internet. The communal plot has a shared recreation area with a large swimming pool of 14 m x 12m games building and honesty bar, shower/changing rooms and barbecue area.
