Traditionally built from sand and coral stone walls and mangrove poles, with Cyprus wooden plank floors surrounded by elevated walkways and large verandas all capped by a magnificent Makuti (coconut leaf) roof. The main entrance is across the main veranda and through a traditionally carved Zanzibari door into the very large living room which is beautifully decorated with traditional spears and shields.

Bedrooms: 'The Teak Bedroom'
A traditional queen-sized Zanzibar four poster bed is carved from Teak.
'The Coconut Bedroom'
A traditional KIG sized Zanzibar four poster bed is carved from coconut.
Luggage and clothes racks, bedside tables, chair & Zanzibar box.
Bathrooms: En suite spacious and romantic bathrooms on both bedrooms, made in local terrazzo is set with a large 2 person’s sunken bath, which is fitted with a hot and cold running shower, 2 washbasins with mirrors and wc.
Kitchen: The kitchen is open plan found at the far end of the living area it is well equipped with service for 6 people, gas cooker and electric kettle.
Utility Room: Stock room fitted with storage cupboards and a fridge.
Living Rooms: The room is fully furnished with a large dining table and 6 chairs, 2 large sofas, work bureau and chair, floor lamps and many large floor cushions and carpets, 2 doors leading to off to the Coconut bathroom and bedroom and the Teak bedroom.
Other: In Africa most of the time is spent outside the main veranda is 10m x 5m with a large dining table chairs on the side walkways there are 2 hammocks, more chairs and small tables for sitting quietly.
Front garden has a bar, 6 stools, BBQ, 2 sun loungers.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided and with maid service every or every other day as you require.
A house manager is always on call at the property and via mobile telephone.
24 hour security guards are present in the grounds.

Accessibility
Tar road all the way from Stonetown ending with private driveway (dirt track) of 100m leading to villa.

Outside
Large gardens with sunbeds and Makuti leaf umbrellas and outside bar and barbecue area.

Coast/Beach
Beach and centre of the village and the SupaDuka (supermarket) are between approximately 10 minutes away on foot.

Golf
No golf courses on the island yet! but there is one in Dar es Salam with is a 20 minute flight, so very easy to go for the day!

Skiing
Too hot, but kite surfing and diving are very popular.

Travel
Airport, sea port and Stonetown are approx 60 km, 1 hour away on tar roads. Rest of the island and all the sights are never more than a 1 and half hour drive.

Further details
There are several bars and restaurants on the beach or near the village. A supermarket is also very close to the village. Many tours are available such as Jozani forest.
Jozani forest to view the rare indigenous Red Colobus Monkeys in the only remaining natural mangrove forest on Unguja / Zanzibar Island is a heaven for nature lovers!

Spice tour, we travel to the central and western parts of the Island, where an abundance of vegetation exists. Coconut, fruits and the spice plantations depending on the season

Dolphins and whales.
Common and spinner dolphins and false killer whale watching. We travel to southern part of the Island where the dolphin’s can be found. Often we can enjoy a jumping display as they swim along with the constant speed of our boat. If conditions are right and we are lucky, we may even get to swim with them.

Coral reef snorkeling by local canoe.
This is organized by our local fishermen who are able to bring you out from our beach with their wooden dug out canoes. The reef is only a couple of hundred meters away and the snorkeling is just a couple of meters deep.

Prison Island and the Giant Tortoises.
This historical Island was formerly owned by an Arab and used for the confinement of refractory slaves. Later it was bought by General Matthews who erected a jail in 1893 and which still stands today, hence the name Prison Island. The main attraction of the island these days is to meet the giant tortoises

Stonetown tour.
This is a mainly an historic tour which includes the following sights:
The Old Fort dating back since 1700.
The “House of Wonder“, the People's Palace.
The Mosque at Malindi.
The Catholic and Anglican cathedrals.
The city market located on the site of the old Slave Market.
The National Museum.
ZALA Reptile Park.
Is a zoological collection of the reptiles and other small mammals such as Hyrax and antelope native to Zanzibar.

Booking notes
Payments 50% in advance. Full payment on 4 weeks before arrival date refundable deposits for cancellations up to 4 weeks before arrival date there after deposit and/or full balance is non-refundable.
200 US Dollar refundable deposit is required on day of arrival this is paid to the house manager, who keeps this in case of any breakages and losses during your stay.
Bank details will be given after your booking form has been received.
