Le Gramon apartment is in a superb location to sit in the south facing garden and relax, or to get out and about in the superb surroundings. All activities can be found in close proximity: ski hire, bike hire, transport, restaurants and shops. The local area is excellent for hiking, all kinds of cycling, and has a large ski area, plus many x-c ski trails and snow-shoe tracks. The apartment has easy sheltered access, and parking, and the interior is user friendly and cosy. The living room has a log-fire and large doors to garden, and the kitchen is fully equipped.

Changeover day
Flexible, except for the holiday period which is Saturday. Arrival after 4pm. Depart before 10am. The apartment should be left clean at the end of your stay.

Accessibility
The apartment can be accessed by wheelchair, but the path is fairly steep in one section.
Outside
The apartment has its own private and secluded garden. This offers a great resource for families. The living room opens to a sunny terrace area, and the above balcony provides shelter as well. There are table and chairs, a sun-bench, and a BBQ. The garden also has its own private Telecabine, for aperitifs!
Coast/Beach
Several lakes are within driving distance, the largest being Lake Geneva, with many beaches and beautiful lakeside towns. Also the Rhone river in the valley 20 mins below provides an excellent system of flat cycle ways.
Golf
Villars has a great mountain golf-course, 18 holes. This offers some challenging rounds, and stunning views to the Mont Blanc Massif.
Skiing
Skiing from the door, the Barboleuse Telecabine is within 50m and this gives access to the Villars-Gryon-Diableret ski area, and also access to the Glacier 3000. It is a unique area to ski in, and family friendly, but offering good alternatives to the more advanced skier looking for some challenges. It also has an excellent system of tracks for both x-c skiing and snoe-shoeing. It also boasts several mountain restaurant hideaways, some accessible by snow-mobile for day or evening fondues! The resorts of Verbier, Portes Du Soleil and many others are driveable for the day.
Travel
Geneva International airport is just 1¼ hour by car. There is excellent public transport both to get here and during your stay. The train form Geneva will take 2hrs 10mins, and leaves you a 5 min stroll from the apartment. With or without a car, it is easy to travel to and from and around!
Distances
The apartment is 20 mins from the valley, either Monthey or Aigle or Bex. The apartment is in the village of Barboleuse, 3km from Villars and 2km from Gryon.

A 25% (minimum £300) deposit is required to book, and this will be held as a damage deposit until after the rental. Payment in full should be made 8 weeks prior to arrival, or paid at time of booking if within this time period.

‘We both had a great time thanks, the piste's were the quietest we have ever been on. Your flat was in a great spot for the lifts etc and was very well fitted out and was very comfortable. Matthew.

I enjoy traveling, and discovering beautiful places. The outdoors is where I like to spend my time. Barboleuse and its surroundings offer the opportunity to relax in the beauty at the doorstep, or get out and explore the local area and its culture. Both in the nearby mountains and by the great Swiss train system, go to many other cities and lac areas. Come on over...and share this area of the world.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I had always looked at apartments in the Alps. Chamonix, but never committed, thankfully. Then I had the opportunity to work in Villars and in my hunt for somewhere to rent/live I discovered this 'little corner of paradise'. Still knowing little about the process to buy I started slowly finding out and finally it was mine. What a great decision, I only lived in it for one year, but I love every season, there is so much to do in the local area I never wanted to go down Teh Valley. My work has now taken me to Geneva, so I cannot live here all the time. I still return as much as possible in every season and it is a big pleasure to allow others the opportunity to discover the delights from the south facing terrace and garden and beyond to the mountains and buvettes. Enjoy.
Unique benefits of the property
Firstly, the apartment is located in the perfect place. It has easy access by train and car, therefore the journey to and from is stress and hassle free. It's great to have a car at times, its great to only use local transport and a bike, or pair of skis. You have the choice! Secondly, it is quiet and off the beaten track, yet the village is just a 5 min walk, the telecabine just 1 min walk, or you can chill in the garden and see no-one, almost! Thirdly, inside is just the perfect set-up to be cosy for 2, perfect for a family and I have been able to entertain many friends with its well designed kitchen and open plan living room/dining.
