Our newly built family chalet is a great place for those looking for a pleasant atmosphere. It is ideally situated in a quiet location, yet close to all necessities to make a splendid holiday. The chalet is built up to a high Swiss standard and decorated with care and great taste. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare dinner for the whole family or a group of friends. The living room has plenty of light in the day and is cosy with a log fire on cold evenings. The small shop is within close walking distance for fresh bread in the morning or ingredients for an evening meal. And if you don't want to cook, next door to the shop is a restaurant. In summer, this is the perfect starting point for hiking or bird watching. In wintertime, the Les Masses piste is nearly at our doorstep. The views are spectacular from all windows, from Crans-Montana, via the impressive Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn up to the barrage 'Grand Dixence'. Six 18-hole golf courses within the hour.

Accessibility
Chalet Les Bonnets has room for 2 cars in the shared parking area above the chalet. A not too steep staircase leads to the front door.

Outside
2 terraces with sunshine all day. Start with an early morning coffee outside the living room, and move to the south side terrace around 11am. Outside we have a Swiss picnic table with two benches as well as chairs to read a book, and lounge chairs to be lazy. BBQ and badminton set available.

Golf
Within an hour drive you will find 6 different golf courses in Sion, Verbier, Sierre, Crans, Leuk en Riederalp.

Skiing
Nearly at the slopes of the Les Masses slope, to the chairlift. Most times ski-in ski-out. Les Masses is part of the 4 Valleys area and is just below Thyon/Les Collons. 400km of slopes in all categories (light blue and easy, to deep black Mont Fort and unprepared tracks). You can ski from Les Massses in the far east to Verbier in the far west of the area. You can stay in Chalet Les Bonnets even without having a private car, as the shop and the restaurant are also within walking distance. In Les Collons you'll find two or three restaurants next to the piste, where skiers can meet non-skiers for lunch.

Special interest holidays
There is plenty to do outdoors all year round. There is a parapente school in Evolene. You can go for a very early morning walk with a wildlife guide to unspoiled places. Or you can make day trips to Sion, go by train to Zermatt and see the Matterhorn from the other side. You can hike near the Great Dixence dam, or walk alongside the old 'bisses'. You can also enjoy the sun in a deck chair or watch birds in the garden.

Travel
Les Masses is approx 2 hours drive from Geneva airport. From here you can travel either by rented car or by train to Sion and by taxi to Les Masses (we can supply a road description for the taxi driver in French). Les Masses is 20 min. drive from Sion airport, which offers flights to and from London. From Calais it will take approx 9 to 10 hours. In winter you are obliged to have snow chains, even when you drive a 4x4.

Distances
The nearest village is downhill to the very old village of Hérémence (1300 AC), only 3 km away. Here you'll find a grocery shop, a bakery, a great butcher, a bank, and several pubs. 2km uphill you'll find Les Collons with ski shops, bank, groceries etc. The medieval town of Sion is 15km away.

Further details
The little shop of Les Masses is only 8 minutes downhill (and 12 uphill) and has all kinds of groceries, fresh cheese, milk, fruit and vegetables, fresh bread twice a day, and you can order fresh meat from the butcher.
