A great location! The views were amazing and the skiing fantastic! KP Feb 09
The snow, resort and particularly the chalet were superb. It is often a risk to book online and outside the normal booking rituals with established companies. I would like to reinforce how happy we were with the chalet and the resort. Dealing with you has been an absolute pleasure. DW Feb 09
We much enjoyed our stay at Chalet Etoile Polaire. We are well used to trips in the Alps in both Winter and Summer but I have to say that the view from the balcony of your chalet is one of the best I have ever seen. Les Collons is a little gem. RM July 09.
We look forward to the next season.Your efficiency has made it very easy and an absolute pleasure. VC Mar 10
Everything was perfect, as described and as expected. PE Mar 11
The chalet was as wonderful as we thought it would be. Very well equipped, warm and cosy....I don't think that there could be much more to improve the chalet for visitors. AB Apr 11

Owner profile
About the owner
Chalet Etoile Polaire (it means "north star") is the second home of the Rogers family. We live in the UK - Stratford-upon-Avon and London and are all keen outdoor enthusiasts. We also happen to love Switzerland - not only for its stunning, natural beauty and a good standard of living, but also for its unique, alpine charm. Our purchase of the chalet sprung out of a desire to own a mountain retreat, somewhere where we could all relax, enjoy great winter skiing and plenty of sunshine and walks in the summer. Family and friends mean a lot to us and we have the perfect opportunity to create happy memories here. We hope that the magic will work on you when you come to visit our lovely chalet.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The moment we stepped onto the chalet balcony, we were blown away by the view, a breathtaking panorama on three sides, spanning the length of the picturesque Herens valley with a mountain backdrop including the mighty Matterhorn. The natural beauty in this area is unsurpassed to our mind. The small village of Les Collons retains its alpine charm and easy atmosphere and is a cosmopolitan mix of local folk and second home owners. The region as a whole benefits from an amazing micro climate in the summer with long, sunny days and clear, starlit nights. The chalet itself is exceptionally roomy and spacious, cosy and warm in winter and light and airy in summer. It's our idea of heaven - and we hope that our guests feel the same way.
Unique benefits of the property
Chalets are usually built on the outskirts of mountain villages and can be tricky to access, especially in winter. Often it means getting in the car every time you want to go anywhere-shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, not least the ski slopes. Not so ours- which we think has the perfect situation right in the middle of a mountain village which is part of the Four Valleys, Switzerland's largest, linked ski terrain...and it's only down the road from a fast quad chairlift. It does not suffer from over-crowded ski slopes or the lengthy lift queues which can affect its more famous neighbour Verbier. Thus,a central village location coupled with the first-class skiing of am extensive ski circuit on your doorstep but without the hefty price tag! What's more it's a great place for summer holidays too!
