Wonderful traditional mountain village of Eischoll, very friendly and in the heart of Wallis/Valais. 2hrs by car from Geneva, under 3hrs by train from Geneva and Zurich. On the south side of the Swiss-German speaking Oberwallis alps. Eischoll is at 1220 meters. Paired together with Unterbaech and Buerchen. Eischoll makes up the Augstbord region with 5 village resorts and 90km of skiing. Much quieter than large busy resorts. It is famed for no waiting times at the lifts and is an area the Swiss themselves use. Eischoll is in such a central location that all the large resorts and Wallis/Valais tourist locations can be enjoyed by train, bus or car, Crans,Zermatt,Saas-Fee & more! Ski bus stop right outside.

Changeover day
Changeover date flexible check in time from 4pm check out time 11am. This is to allow inspection and cleaning of the apartment. We may be able to change this to fit in with your plans, just let us know and we'll try to be flexible.

Notes on accommodation
Fully furnished, very suitable as a family or couples holiday.The apartment is situated in the centre of the village Loft mezzanine accessible with the attached stairs. . The mezzanine is not suitable for very young children. A bed can be main up in the bedroom for young children. We also have a Hauck travel cot for babies and toddlers. Central heating in the apartment always warm and the caretaker will already have the heating set with hot water. Heating and electricity are included in the price. Sat TV, DVD push tv/sat on remote. Glass bottles, newspapers, cardboard cannot be disposed of in waste bin and must be recycled in the recycling bank, located by the car park opposite the apartment. Please dispose of your rubbish when you leave. Parking is free in the car park across the street. Apartment is on the top floor of 3 story chalet with only 16 apartments. Fantastic views of the north Rhone Alps from the apartment and the balcony!

Golf
A number of golf courses in the Rhone Valley, Leuk, Sierre, Sion and more. Leuk golf course is a full 18 hole course in the valley surrounded by the beautiful mountain scenery.
Skiing
You really are in Wonderland. No queuing at the ski lifts as this is a quiet resort that the Swiss themselves use. You can even ski from one village to another via inter linking ski piste’s and ski lifts. There is a good variety of, (30% easy, 40% intermediate, 30% difficult) skiing. Sledging runs and walking trails are a good way to spend a day off away from the slopes. The Skiing area is between 1220 and 2500m above sea level and is snow sure during the winter months. A skipass allows you to use 5 different village resorts and kids under 9 are free. A sports bus runs between them, with a stop just outside the apartment. In spring/summer the ski piste’s transform into summer meadows and fields amongst the alpine forests. The ringing of cow bells and running water echoing around the mountain. At any time of year, a stay at our apartment in Eischoll is a great holiday for couples or a family.
Other resorts; Saas-Fee Cran-Montana, Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Leuk, Zermatt and more all close.
Travel
Geneva Airport. Its a 2 hour drive mostly by motorway. Then from Turtmann to Eischoll is a mountain road which is accessible all year round. A good wide road. From collecting your car to arriving at the apartment is just under 2 hours. The Swiss trains are excellent and from Raron the cable car takes you to within 50meters of the apartment. 23 Dec to 14 Apr Gatwick to Sion/Flybe departs Saturdays. Sion is 40 min. New train! Zurich Airport to Eischoll 2hr55. Through the new Loetschberg tunnel.

Further details
There are lovely traditional Swiss mountain restaurants in the area. One just below the apartment. 2 others in Eischoll as well as 4 in neighbouring Unterbaech and many in Buerchen. There are also lovely restaurants up the mountain en route on the walking trails and on the ski piste's. They all cater in traditional Swiss dishes such as Raclette and Fondue. As well as gorgeous selections of other lesser known Swiss dishes. As you can imagine steaks on the mountain are a must. A Walliser Teller is something that must be tried. Dry meats and cheese always washed down with a Walliser Beer!
There is a bank and with ATM 5 mins walk. Post office, Pay phone, Cable car stop and Mini Supermarket across from the apartment. A sports/ski shop right next to the apartment complex from which you can hire ski's and equipment. Within the complex is the Schwarzhorn bar/ restaurant with outside seating. Perfect on warm winter days. Tourist Office in Eischoll and neighbouring Unterbaech. They have information on the whole region. The tourist office has the details of everything and anything in the area and in the whole of Valais. Ski Passes can be bought at the tourist office. Schwarzhorn has its own parking bays right next to the Ski shop which is next to the complex. There is also plenty of parking right opposite the apartment building. 200meters to nearest Chair lift which starts you on your skiing day around the mountains.
Visp which is 15mins down the mountain, can cater for all other needs with shops and large supermarkets. Swimming pool complex, train stop for the Glacier Express.

After contact a booking form will be Emailed to you with terms and conditions. Sign and send the form back with a cheque for 25% (or online credit card) of the full letting sum. The balance plus a refundable £75 security deposit is required eight weeks prior to the letting. If a booking is within 8 weeks the full amount plus security deposit required.
