In a secluded spot, overlooking the valley with superb views of the Matterhorn, this charming Swiss chalet comfortably sleeps 6. With a sauna, the open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with wood burner opens onto a balcony overlooking the 30ft private garden and the stunning valley beyond. The chalet is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac between Les Collons and Les Masses. The chairlifts and facilities of both resorts - restaurants, bars and supermarkets - are less than a 2 min drive/ short shuttle bus ride from the end of the road. The resort of Thyon is a 5 min drive up the mountain and the town of Sion is a 20 min drive. In the winter, the skiing at Les Collons is family friendly with wide, open slopes (and at 1800m - snow sure from Nov to Apr) but a few chairlifts away the more challenging slopes of the Four Valleys are easily accessible. In the summer, the sun-drenched chalet offers fresh mountain air and tranquillity with good walking and biking around the local area.

Changeover day is Saturday.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. The cleaners can arrive from 9am on departure day so guests need to be ready to vacate the chalet from then. Guests are asked to arrive no earlier than 4pm on their arrival day to allow plenty of time to clean the chalet.

The chalet is cleaned after each hire (at a cost of 160 CHF payable by the guests.) Guests can either bring their own linen or pay 22 CHF per person to have bedding supplied (cost to cover agency cleaning). Towels are not included. |
Notes on accommodation
Amenities also include a wood burner fire, a DVD player, a CD player, an I-station (I-pod player with built-in speakers), a hair dryer and a 6-person sauna. Chalet suitable for children as gardens are private and secluded. No dogs allowed in the chalet.

Skiing
Les Collons (and the surrounding area of Les Masses and Thyon) is a skiers and boarders paradise with access to the Four Valleys and 410km of pistes, including breathtaking descents from Mont-Fort and the world famous Piste de l’Ours, venue of 25 World Cup races. The local area caters for all levels of skiers from beginners and young children who will enjoy learning to ski around the lower slopes of Les Collons to the more adventurous off-piste skiers who will find infinite powder to explore and even a snow park. Visitors can ski to Verbier in a couple of hours but there is plenty of skiing and boarding to be had locally, with much less queuing! The Les Masses chair lift is 800m away or a 2 min drive from the chalet (or a shuttle bus from the end of the road will take you to either Les Masses or Les Collons). There are ski schools in both Les Collons and Thyon 2000 and local ski hire/sports shops.
Travel
Sion is the nearest airport, 20 mins drive. Geneva airport is a 2 hour drive away - a journey which takes in stunning mountain ranges alongside Lake Geneva and views over the Rhone Valley. Flight time from the UK to Geneva is 1 1/4 hours.
Distances
2 mins drive to Les Collons and Les Masses - the closest resorts with restaurants, bars and supermarkets. 5 mins drive to Thyon (up the mountain) - a larger resort with a swimming pool and many other facilities. 20 mins drive to Sion - nearest larger town.
Further details
In the summer the pastures burst into bloom and you are surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna and fruit trees in the Valais. Sample the quality local wines on a guided wine-tasting tour. Explore the numerous marked hiking paths, horse-riding, mountain-biking and golf. Visit the historic capital town of Sion with its impressive hill-top castles. Take a trip up to the imposing Grande Dixence Dam - the highest in Europe. Relax in the therapeutic thermal baths and spas at Saillon Les Bains and Leukerbad.
Booking notes
A 50% deposit is requested to secure a booking (non-refundable in case of cancellation). Final payment due 8 weeks before arrival (after this non-refundable) with a security deposit of £150 and a key deposit of £50. The security deposit will be held against any damage/breakages etc. This £200 will be returned within 2 weeks - subject to the chalet being left in good condition and keys returned promptly. The cleaning/ linen charge is paid direct to the agency in the resort.
