This luxury 147m2 chalet was completed in December 2006 to an excellent standard with accommodation over 3 floors (basement, ground and first). It is finished and furnished to a high standard with oak floors, fully tiled bathrooms and luxury kitchen with granite worktops. Downstairs there is a utility room with washing and drying machines, a sauna and a shower. Outside there are two terrace areas (one very large), a private car park (for use by the upper 6 chalets) and a garage with electric door. From the outside balconies and terraces there are breathtaking views across to Val D’herens, and all the way along Val Dixence to the mighty Dixence dam. Although this is a very quiet location, it is within 10 minutes level walk of a shop, restaurant and chair lift. It is only 5 minutes drive from bars, restaurants and shops in Les Collons and Heremence. There is wonderful walking and mountain biking from the door and many other activities within a very short drive.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the chalet per week in GBP. There is a small tourist charge (approx £1 per day per adult, 50p per child over 6) which must be paid on collection of keys from Agence Les Masses (ALM).
Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day. Please arrive between 15.00-18.00 at Agence Les Masses (ALM), a 3 minute drive from the chalet, where you can collect keys and bedding. Check out and return keys at ALM by 09.00 on your departure day.

Notes on accommodation
All bathrooms and the ground floor have under floor heating. Children are very welcome but there are curved stairs which are more suitable for those over 4 years of age. The chalet is non-smoking throughout and no pets are allowed. Sorry, no large single sex groups.

Accessibility
The private car park and garage are one level below the main entrance, with a set of steps leading up to the front door.
Outside
There are two balconies and two paved terraces where you can sit and enjoy a barbeque, take in the magnificent views, or just soak up the sun. The upper terrace has a table, chairs, barbeque and sun awning. There is direct access to the kitchen and dining areas. The lower terrace is immediately outside the main entrance door.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Lake Geneva which is about 100km away. There are thermal baths at Ovronnaz, Leukerbad and Lavey, all within 45 minutes drive.
Golf
Golf. The Sion golf course is 20 minutes drive away; the championship Crans sur Sierre (European Masters Tournament) course is 45 minutes, and Villars and Verbier courses are 55 minutes away.
Skiing
The chair lift 500m away at Les Masses carries you into a skiers and boarders dream with direct access to the Swiss Four valleys, one of the largest ski regions in Europe with over 400km of pistes and over 100 ski-lifts. The ski area above Les Collons is fabulous with wide open and sunny slopes perfect for all and includes one of the most famous ski slopes in the Alps, the fabulous Piste de L’Ours. With some of the best off piste you can ski everywhere. There is no need to ski to Verbier but good skiers can get there on skis in just over an hour.
Travel
Les Masses is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes from Geneva airport. Driving from Calais takes around 9 hours.
Distances
Les Masses is 20 kms from the historic town of Sion and is a 5 minute drive away from the traditional Swiss village of Heremence and the local resort of Les Collons. The Grande Dixence dam, the highest dam in Europe, is a 15 minute drive away. Nearest restaurant and supermarket (Les Masses) is 1km. Villages of Heremence and Les Collons is 2–5km. Swimming pool (Thyon) is 8km. The Grande Dixence dam and lake is 14km. Sion is 20km.

A very wide range of walking is available for all ages and abilities – from meadows and pine forests, of which there are many in this area of Valais, to adventurous and spectacular hikes in the Alpes. Mountain biking. Several of the ski lifts in the region are open during the summer season allowing bikers easy access to the mountains and many scenic tracks back down. For the more adventurous there is a fantastic 44km cycle trail, a day long trip which takes you to the top of one of the highest mountains in the Four Valleys region.
Further afield. A day trip, by car or train from Sion, will easily take you to Zermatt (at the foot of the Matterhorn), Milan or the Italian lakes. Other activities include open air swimming pool in Sion, man made lakes fed by the Rhone river with sandy beaches and water sports, golf in Sion, river rafting on the Rhone, thermal spas at Ovronnaz, Leukerbad and Lavey, paragliding, fishing, horse riding (local stables in Vex), mountain biking (hire in Les Collons), Happyland, children's adventure park, the Adventure Forest - Vercorin, Parc-Aventure – Aigle, The Underground Lake at St Leonard - take a boat and explore this fascinating cave which takes you under the Alps.
