Both apartments have a large living rooms, kitchens with fridges, freezers, dishwashers, cookers/ovens and each appartment has one bathrooms with bathtub, hand held shower and WC. Central heating. Access to garden with private area for barbecue and sunbathing, parking space and no smoking.

Bedroom 1 with twin beds and wardrobes. Bedroom 2 with twin beds and wardrobes. Bedroom 3 with single bed plus wash basin. Bathroom with bath/shower, wc and washbasin Fully fitted kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge and small freezer. Excellent range of cooking utensils and serving dishes. Comfortable living room with sofa, table and chairs. Washing machine and tumble dryer in the house, to be used with small financial participation. Unfortunately, this appartment is not particularly suitable for children aged less than 12 years (which are very welcome in our other appartement Lousophtan N° 1). Non smoking - pets welcome prior to permission granted by owner. |

Linen, tea towels and final cleaning is included.

Accessibility
Apartment Lousophtan N° 1 is on ground floor, direct access through garden (no steps to negociate)
Apartment Lousophtan N° 3 is on top floor of a chalet (stairs of about 10 steps, not suitable for wheelchairs or the disabled).
Outside
The chalet is located in a very quiet and sunny area. The house is surrounded by a large garden, with trees. Deckchairs, table and chairs for outdoor meals, barbecue. In winter, children will enjoy building snow-men or sledging down the little hill.
Coast/Beach
Montreux (Lake of Geneva) can be reached within 1 hour, by car or by train (wonderful scenery).
Golf
Golf course Saanenmöser-Gstaad at a distance of 25 mins drive. Golf course Pont-La-Ville (Gruyère) at a distance of 40 mins drive.
Skiing
The huge ski-resort Château-d'Oex - Gstaad- Saanenmöser includes hundred of kilometers of well maintained slopes. The train station and most of the cable car stations have ski locks where you can easily leave your skis and boots over night.
Special interest holidays
French course (6 days) : Do you enjoy hiking and want to improve your French? Whatever your age, you can combine learning with fun by going for walks and also learning French. All you need is to be able to manage walks of moderate difficulty and to have some basic knowledge of French. This special course takes place in February and July/August and aims to: to discover region - on foot in the Summer or snow shoes in the Winter, - to refresh and perfect your knowledge of French in a fun way, - to meet others of the same - or different - nationalities who enjoy hiking and who want to practise their French conversation. Accommodation in self catering appartments or B&B. Intermediate level, A2 to B2 (European language portfolio). 3 hours teaching a day, in small groups (4 – 8 people) using interactive methods. Course leader Doris Hirschi, adult education teacher and French instructor, Swiss, well acquainted with the region with good hiking knowledge. Please ask for detailed offer.
Travel
Fly to Geneva Airport (good flight deals from EasyJet and BA into Geneva, during winter season check for special flights from Plymouth or Exeter). Continue by train (approx 2 1/2 hours with 1 or 2 changes), or approx. 2 hours car journey (Hertz supply ski equipped rental cars from Geneva). Possible to drive in about 7 hours from Calais.
Distances
Gstaad: 15mins drive, or 25 mins by train. Interlaken or Lausanne day trip. Gruyère medieval village and castle: 30 mins frive. Broc (chocolate factory): 30 mins drive.
Further details
Château-d'Oex is situated in the magnificent Pays d'Enhaut open valley at an average height of 1000m and is considered to be a jewel of the Swiss Alps. The valley is served by the famous M.O.B. Golden Pass panoramic railway enabling one to explore the many interesting villages of the region. In the summer the region offers glorious walking - some 300km of marked paths -and in the winter plenty of skiing. The high street runs through the centre of the village and all the usual facilities are available including an excellent Co-op supermarket and several restaurants.
There is an English speaking Anglican church in the main street which has a service at 5.30 pm every Sunday throughout the year to which all are made very welcome.
