South facing En Carteys is situated in a quiet part of Villars village, close to local walks and mountain bike trails but just a 7 minute walk to the restaurants, supermarkets, lifts and a decent cappuccino. This character, duplex apartment is situated on the third (and top) floor of a small apartment block built about 30 years ago and sympathetically renovated by previous owners. It comfortably sleeps eight to nine people in quality accommodation mainly arranged on one floor. There is a chill-out area on a mezannine floor and a separate bedroom (The Red Room). In addition, there are two reserved parking plots, one in an underground garage, a ski locker and a shared laundry facility. A park opposite caters well for the more athletic visitor including a football pitch and running track (summer only!). Wireless internet access also.

Changeover day is Saturday and vacation time is 10.30 am and arrival times from 4.00 pm. These may be flexible outside of high season.

Kitchen: Electric cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, Magimix, Braun hand mixer - well stocked with good range of crockery and put together from a cook's perspective. Fondue set included for the cooks' nights off!
Utility Room: Cloakroom area offers good storage and area for drying boots. Shared laundry washing machine and tumble dryer facilities which are more than adequate for longer stays.
Living Rooms: Living area has high ceilings and lots of traditional wood finishes, very cosy with two four/five seater sofas and a real log fire, IPOD docking station, range of books to read plus local guides. Separate dining room (seats up to 10 people).
Other: Chill-out area on mezannine floor with floor cushions, HD TV(Two English speaking channels cover the news and sport), DVD player plus a good range of DVDs. CD Player also. Travel cot and changing mat also available.

Notes on accommodation
This apartment is not recommended for toddlers through to two and half year-olds as there are steps up to a mezzanine floor which might not be suitable for unstable walkers. The balcony outside has been child-proofed to some extent. Our youngest of three children was OK visiting at the age of three plus.

Outside
Good size balcony with table and chairs for six people and plenty of room to manouvre. Stunning views of the dramatic Dents du Midi and the Muveran mountain chain. Immediately outside there are views to woodland, pasture behind the apartment and views to the village.

Golf
The Golf Club in Villars is special indeed. A championship course, offering 5288 metres of golfing pleasure in beautiful mountainous countryside and voted one of the most admired golf locations in Europe. The Club House offers gourmet cuisine and a panoramic terrace.

Skiing
Featured in the Top 10 Sunday Times Ski Locations and with fantastic views towards the Mont Blanc and the spectacular jagged peaks of the ‘Dents du Midi’, Villars is a well-established and attractive ski resort offering a refreshing alternative to the better-known ski resorts of the region. Endorsed by the Swiss authorities as a perfect resort for families, with a well-recommended ski school and a relaxed & inviting atmosphere, Villars is great for beginner & intermediate skiers - there’s plenty of space on the slopes to perfect those turns! The wide and well-groomed slopes are reached either by a charming little mountain railway from the centre, or by the Roc d’Orsay gondola. The village centre has a good selection of shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and a few nightclubs. Only a short transfer from Geneva airport, Villars is a firm favourite. Resort attractions: Snow-shoe trekking & paragliding. Leisure centre with squash, tennis & badminton, swimming pool, skating rink, bowling.

Montreaux - 20 minutes - awesome views of Lake Lehman (Geneva), walking, sightseeing, shopping and the world renowned annual Jazz Festival.
Lausanne - 30 minutes - shopping, markets, Olympic Museum
Chamonix - 90 minutes drive
Geneva 75 - 90 minutes drive away offers a wealth of cultural
activities.
