Accommodation, on 3 floors, totals 240 sq.m. includes 4/5 bedrooms, open-plan living areas, excellent kitchen facilities and well-equipped bathrooms. Guests can choose to rent a spacious family home or three independent apartments.

Notes on prices
Prices are per week in UK pounds Sterling. 10% discount for renting a second apartment, and 10% discount for second week (except Christmas/New Year). Whole chalet rentals only over the Christmas and New Year holidays, approx. 15 December - 5 January. Please contact owners for possible long let discounts.
Changeover day
Except for peak periods (Christmas, New Year and UK school half-terms) we try to be reasonably flexible on changeover days. Normally afternoon arrivals after 1600, and morning departures before 1000 are expected, but negotiable.
Notes on accommodation
Not suitable for large single-sex groups. Oil central heating throughout, constant hot water, with 2 wood-burning stoves. Top apartment living room can be converted to bedroom to provide 5 bedrooms in total. Sky satellite / Swiss TV and WiFi Internet throughout, BBC Radio 4 in bathrooms, DVD/video/stereo in each apartment. Laundry room equipped with excellent Miele machines.
Outside
Private garden with stunning views towards snow-capped mountain ranges from Les Dents du Midi (south-west) through La Chamossaire (above Villars) to the Les Diablerets Glacier (south-east). BBQ, outside fridge, garden dining furniture and sun chairs are available for all guests. Garages and parking available.
Coast/Beach
Nearest 'coast' is Lake Geneva, between about 24 - 28 km from Leysin by road or train. There is a beach, water park and yachting at Le Bouveret on the Lake, and various swimming spots near Villeneuve and numerous attractive lakeside villages around Lac Leman.
Golf
Excellent nearby 18-hole golf courses include Golf Club Montreux (6200m, Par 72), in Aigle, the nearest main town to Leysin, Gstaad-Saanenland (5300m, Par 70) and Villars (5288m, Par 70).
Skiing
An attractive Swiss Vaud Alps resort, Leysin is traditionally recommended for beginners and intermediates, with good off-piste for advanced skiers and an international snowboarding reputation ‘one of the top resorts in Switzerland for snowboarders… 50km area having virtually no drag-lifts’ (British Ski Club guide). Annual Nescafé championships utilises the superb half pipe. 61km of pistes available (14km protected by snow-making equipment), with 14 lifts and 7km of cross country skiing. Skiing from 1330m-2200m is uncrowded, with several traditional family mountain restaurants. Leysin has Europe’s largest toboggan park, excellent multi-lingual Swiss Ski School, ice rink and well-stocked ski hire shops. Standard ski pass includes neighbouring Villars, Les Diablerets (year round glacier skiing at 3000m), Gryon and Les Mosses. Travel
Geneva airport has excellent UK/Europe connections (both budget & full-service airlines), + railway station and next to a major motorway on the French/Swiss border. There is an hourly direct train to Aigle, where one changes to the mountain cog railway for Leysin – total journey time 1 hr 50 mins. Distance by road is 124km (1 hr 30 mins) by lakeside motorway to Aigle, then mountain road to Leysin (well-maintained in winter). Calais is 840km via the excellent French and Swiss motorway systems.

Leysin has at least a dozen good restaurants, numerous bars, 2 supermarkets, 2 excellent bakeries, a good butcher, 2 doctors, pharmacy, 2 banks (with cash machines and foreign exchange), many interesting specialist shops, 2 sports centres, mountain bike hire shops, ski hire shops, mountain and ski guide services and superb facilities for serious walking. A recent addition is a well-equipped bike park. Riding is available in the village stables. We can provide a 10-page informal guide, which is updated weekly, and summarises village life both from a practical and leisure point of view. Serious maps and guide books available on request.
Booking notes
We normally hold reservations for 72 hours, awaiting receipt of a 20% non-refundable booking deposit. Payment of rental balance and security deposit of £150/apartment (£450 for whole chalet) is due 8 weeks before arrival (reminder sent 9 weeks before arrival). Rental payments are non-refundable in case of cancellation and a comprehensive travel insurance policy covering all relevant members of your party is highly recommended. Payments accepted by cheque, direct bank transfer and credit cards.
