Le Preyet is a large chalet style apartment building situated in the traditional Swiss village of Veysonnaz, Switzerland. Our apartment occupies the entire ground floor and includes a large balcony with outstanding panoramic views over the snow-capped mountains of the Rhone Valley. Veysonnaz has an 8 person gondola taking you to 2400m in a few minutes where you can ski the 4 Valleys including Verbier, Nendaz and Tzoumaz or simply explore the Veysonnaz ski area. The apartment is about 10 minutes walk from the lift station. There are ski lockers available at the lift station if you wish to leave skis/boots near the lift. There is also a regular ski bus service with a bus stop just 3 minutes walk from the apartment. The village offers excellent bars with a few good quality restaurants offering a range of traditional Swiss cuisine. The village of Veysonnaz also has a small butchers, bakers and supermarket.

Notes on accommodation
Le Preyet is accessed down a private road. In the event that access is limited due to snow, Le Preyet can be accessed via a private pathway and steps leading from the outside parking space above the property. There is a free village ski bus that runs frequently to and from the gondola during the ski season. You can also drive to the ski gondola in under 5 minutes where parking is free and normally plentiful.
Accessibility
Steep steps from upper parking area. The garden area is unfenced and care/supervision is required for very young children due to steep slopes.

There is a golf course in Sion about 20 mins drive away
Skiing
Veysonnaz has excellent ski links to the Swiss Four Valley region including Mont Fort, Verbier, Nendaz, Les Collons, Les Masses, Thyon and Siviez. Local Ski Bus Service to lift station. Ski lockers available at lift station. Ski/boot hire available in village. Ski lessons/guides available from Tourist Office close to lift station. Indoor Swimming Pool within 5 minutes walk.
Special interest holidays
Walking - there are plenty of walking routes many along level paths in the mountains. Cycling - from Veysonnaz you can explore the mountain paths by bike making use of the excellent lift system.
Travel
Getting there: Fly to Geneva from where you can hire a car and drive (2 hours) to Veysonnaz. Alternatively you can take the train from Geneva to Sion and then take either a Poste Bus or a taxi to Veysonnaz. Fly to Sion from Stanstead or City Airport (ski season only). Driving from the Eurotunnel takes around 8 hours (600 miles).

Travel times by train or car: Geneva 2 hours. Lausanne 1.5 hours. Montreux 1 hour. Martigny 40 minutes. Sion 20 minutes.
Further details
Winter: Veysonnaz has excellent skiing and good links to the Swiss 4 Valleys and Mont Fort region incuding Verbier. There is plently of skiing from Veysonnaz and if you want to explore other ski resorts in the area, you can travel (by car) to Arolla, Evolene, Crans Montana, Anzere, Grimentz, Zinal, Chandolin and St Luc.

Summer: The village has local shops and there is a swimming pool within 10 minutes walk. The lift system is open in July which provides access to high level walks with outstanding views. There are a number of good level summer walks along the Bisses (ancient water courses). Cycle hire is available in the village - these can be carried on the lift system with some excellent circular routes including the Tour de Mont Fort in the Verbier region.
The Rhone valley is within 20 minutes drive. Here the city of Sion has good shopping as well as historic sites. The thermal baths at Ovronnaz or Saillon are also excellent summer time activities. A trip to the Aletch Glacier and the Grande Dixence Dam is also well worth a visit.
Booking notes
A booking deposit of 30% will be required to secure your booking. This is payable in Swiss Francs or GBP. The balance of the rental plus the cost of cleaning is to be paid by bank transfer at least 6 weeks before your arrival. A refundable security deposit of £180 or CHF250 will be added to the balance of rent due. Cleaning can be arranged locally for CHF150. The owner will collect Swiss Tourist Tax on behalf of clients. Adults CHF2.5 per night. Children CHF1.5 per night.
