Notes on prices
Rates: Unlike some other rental properties, rate is inc. of all bedlinen, bathroom towels, tea towels, electricity, heating, pre/post stay cleaning and laundry (additional mid-stay cleaning can be arranged if rqd), local agent liaison, key handover and collection, firewood.
Changeover day
Changeover day in peak/high season is Saturday and bookings are for a week min.

Notes on accommodation
The chalet and grounds are strictly non-smoking. No pets allowed. The chalet is suitable for groups with children, particularly as the bedroom floors are separated by the living/dining/kitchen floor, thus providing privacy (and peace!) for families. There is a highchair at the chalet. The Chalet rental fee is for the entire chalet. The maximum group number for the chalet is 8 people, including children over the age of 1 year.

Accessibility
Due to the 3 levels and number of stairs, the chalet is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
The detached chalet benefits from space all around and an 80ft landscaped private garden which is the summer is filled with log planters and a mass of colourful flowers, bushes & seating. In the winter, the stunning Silver Birches and other trees stand proud, usually dusted with snow. The wrap-around balconies each have chairs and a table to enjoy the stunning mountain scenery over a morning coffee or late afternoon glass of wine. There is a large stone BBQ terrace and large oval wooden table and chairs to seat 8 comfortably with parasol, sun loungers. Parking for 3 cars.
Coast/Beach
There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools in Villars. Also, several beautiful lakes within 30 minutes of the chalet which can be swum in. As well as a beach at Bouveret (with the Aquapark and Steam Train park). the Thermal Baths at Lavey are magical with pools and a spa facilities to keep everyone in their element (just 25 mins drive away).
We would highly recommend taking a trip on one of the stunning paddle steamers on Lake Geneva which depart from Lausanne (1 hour's drive from the chalet).
Golf
Villars is blessed with a world-class 18-hole golf course located in an amazing and spectacular mountain location at 5300 ft (1600 m). The golf course and its superb restaurant are perched on a south-facing plateau where you can play a round, enjoy drinks or a meal amid some of the most stunning views of the Alps and Mont-Blanc.
For those wishing to learn how to play, individual lessons or week-long group programmes for all levels can be arranged with PGA certified professionals in this most relaxed, unique and beautiful setting.
The club is open from mid-May to October and can be accessed by the funicular railway from Villars station or by road.
Skiing
The chalet is located just 100m/5 mins from the ski piste with Blue run down to the main Barboleuse telecabine with access to the entire Villars and Les Diablerets ski region. Ideal for skiing back at the end of the day for a large glass of wine on the terrace! The 2 linked areas of Villars Gryon and Barboleuse have 220km of marked ski runs, including the Les Diablerets Glacier, with altitude ranging from 1200m – 3000m.
The pistes are split: 30% beginner, 60% intermediate 10% advanced, with wide, well-groomed, varied pistes with some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see. Enthusiasts wanting to be challenged can try the glacier at Les Diablerets which also has some excellent off-piste skiing.
Snowboarders can enjoy the magnificent snow park on the Chaux-Ronde trail. In all there are 4 glaciers in the area available for heliskiing for the more adventurous.
There are 10 other world-renowned ski resorts within 1 hour of the chalet.

The local area is also extremely popular with cyclists, walkers, hikers, bird-spotters, horticulturalists and even star-spotters !
Travel
The nearest airport is Geneva - 76 miles/125 km and a very straightforward 90 mins drive.
There is also an excellent rail network from Geneva to Villars (Bex or Aigle) - see www.sbb.ch - or we can recommend several good airport transfer companies.
Zurich Airport is 155 miles / 243 km and approx 3 hours drive.
The nearest ferry port is Calais 490 miles / 789 km and approx journey time 9 hours.
Hire car / own car is recommended.
Distances
5min drive/20min walk down mountain lane to Barboleuse with restaurants, patisserie, supermarket, ski hire, telecabin/ski uplift and tourist office. 2km/8 min drive to Villars with many shops, restaurants, banks, post office, train station etc. Take the charming mountain train up to Bretaye for ski schools or fantastic walks, lakes to swim in and restaurants. 10min drive to Bex with its Salt Mines. 25mins to the Thermal Baths at Lavey. 45 mins to the glacier at Les Diablerets for summer skiing.

There is a huge amount to do and see in the area all year round for all ages - all within an hour's drive or train journey from the chalet. We can supply lists of our's and our guest's favourite activities and trips and there is also a large folder and good amount of information in the chalet on local attractions, timetables, opening hours, restaurant recommendations etc.
