Notes on accommodation
No pets. Central heating. Very quiet location. The nursery slope of Les Esseserts is next door with rolling carpet lift, button lift and a restaurant with terrace to overlook the slope. Also good for sledging with the rolling carpet to get up.

Not good for people with wheelchair or mobility problems.

Large south west facing terrace with panoramic mountain views, tables, chairs, sun chairs, gas barbecue.

Verbier has an 18 hole golf course.
Skiing
A 3 min ski from chalet down to the Hameau bus stop - buses every 15 min to both main ski lifts are free. Ski back to 5 min walk to chalet or bus and a 10 min walk down hill. The nursery slope at Les Esseserts is next door with its rolling carpet and button lifts. Verbier has skiing for all levels, from very advanced to complete beginner. It also has several ski schools for grownups and for children and private guides for wonderful off piste skiing. There is also an ice rink for skating.
Travel
Geneva airport is 2 hours away by car or a 2 hour train ride from the airport to Martigny with a 30 min taxi ride to Verbier. Or train to Martigny and then to Le Chable and a 15 min bus or cable car ride up to Verbier. There is also a mini bus service between Geneva airport and Place Central in Verbier called Alpine Express British Airways, Air France, Swiss and Easy Jet fly into Geneva. Car hire is recommended with snow tyres and snow chains or 4 wheel drive.
Distances
Verbier town centre is a 30 min walk from the chalet. 10 min by car and 15 min by bus. Buses come every 15 minutes and are free. There are late buses but less often.

Verbier has several big supermarkets where one can get everything, bakery shops, wine shops, delicatessen shops with ready made food, news agents with international papers, sport and clothes shops, banks and a wealth of restaurants.

About the owner
I am a sporty person who loves my skiing, especially touring with a guide off piste with a sandwich in my backpack, but also on the pistes with many nice restaurants. But, I like to live comfortably and away from all the night time noise of the centre of Verbier, in Kensington and that I do in my beautiful chalet.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
The chalet was built in 1979 of old wood with a slate roof, to look like an old chalet which it does. I chose Verbier for its accessibility to England and for its superb skiing, especially off piste, but it caters to any standard of skiing and since it includes a glacier and is located at 1,500m there is never a real snow problem. One can always ski and now a wealth of snow machines too. Very good for the lower children's slopes.
I also like the fact that Verbier sits on the mountain side bathing in sun light rather than down in a valley.
My now grown up children have all learnt to ski in Verbier and have always loved the place and always will. I love to be somewhere where my children love it too.
Unique benefits of the property
I love to be able to put my skis on outside the chalet and ski down to the bus stop and ski back to the chalet. It is wonderful to have the quiet, serene beauty of the snow covered mountains and the quietness at night and still be so close to the hustle and bustle of all that is going on down in the village with bars, restaurants and night clubs.
