Charming and comfortable chalet built in 1990, with enclosed garden, situated in the idyllic Val Ferret, near the valley of the Grand St.Bernard. 15 minute drive to the cable car up to Verbier and 15 minute drive to Champex Lac. 30 minute drive to the Grand Saint Bernard Pass into Italy. Ideal area for walking and hiking in summer and autumn and 8km to nearest ski pistes and cross country skiing in winter. Enclosed garden. Dogs welcome.

Skiing
8 km to the nearest ski slopes and cross country skiing at La Fouly and 15 minutes by car to Le Châble (for the cable car to Verbier) and 15 minutes by car to Champex Lac.
Travel
Nearest airport is in Geneva. Car hire is recommended but there are trains from Geneva to Martigny, then a small train from Martigny to Orsières, and bus from Orsières to Praz-de-Fort. The chalet is 500 meters from the bus stop.
Distances
1 kilometer to village of Praz-de-Fort where there is one small restaurant. 6 km to Orsières for supermarkets and restaurants and bank. 8 km to La Fouly, also for supermarket and restaurants.

About the owner
I am English and I live in Switzerland in a village at the foot of the Jura. I have a beagle who loves to run through the woods and fields. I came here to work over 40 years ago for a year, met my husband here who was a student in Lausanne at the time, and here I still am!
I love staying in the chalet where it is quiet and peaceful, yet at the same time well placed for visiting nearby resorts and through the Grand St.Bernard tunnel into Italy. I also enjoy walking in this beautiful area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The Val Ferret is a beautiful area and we fell in love with it the first time we went there. It is far from the madding crowd but at the same time very accessible all year round. The chalet is well situated for many hikes into surrounding mountains and along the valley. The village is on the 'Tour de Mont Blanc'.
Unique benefits of the property
The chalet is well equipped with all modern conveniences. It is comfortable and ideal for a relaxing holiday. The surroundings are tranquil and there is a profusion of wild flowers in spring and summer. Yet if one feels like being more active it is located not far from summer and winter sports and easy car rides to various ski resorts and over the Col du Saint Bernard into Italy and over the Col du Forclaz into France. Not far from the ski domaine of Verbier without Verbier rental prices! Less than 40 minutes from Thermal baths.
