This newly built apartment on the ground floor of a chalet-style block is ideal for exploring the picturesque village of Chateau D'Oex as well as neighbouring Gstaad, Rougement and Saanen. Accommodation comprises an open plan living area/kitchen, leading to a bedroom and bathroom with bath and power shower. The sofa folds out easily into a comfortable bed. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a dishwasher, there is also a TV with cable channels (including UK terrestrial), DVD player and DVDs in the living area. French doors open onto the terrace, where a table and chairs are provided. Guests also have full use of the indoor pool, sauna/steam and gym with stunning views of the mountains! There is a bar/lounge with board games, roulette table, library and WI-FI access. Chateau D'Oex is an all year resort with skiing in winter and walking and mountain biking in summer as well as numerous other activities on offer. It is also home to the famous balloon festival each January.

Please note: GBP rates are applicable only in Britain. Visitors from other countries please do not use conversion tool, the price will be quoted in CHF on request.
Prices are for the property per week based on up to 2 people sharing. 10% discount is offered to returning guests. The rate is all inclusive apart from: SFr 105 End of Rental cleaning and SFr2 per person per night local tax, both payable on-site. Short stay: a charge of £35 is added. SFr 200 refundable deposit is payable on arrival.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday however this is negotiable.

Bedrooms: The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a hairdryer for guests' convenience. The sofa in the living area easily folds out to an additional double bed. There is also a radio/alarm clock.
Bathrooms: There is a bath and power shower, a heated towel rail and laundry basket.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary facilities: grill, 4-ring ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric kettle and toaster, fondue and raclette sets.
Utility Room: Laundry facilities are provided within the apartment building.
Living Rooms: An open plan living room contains a kitchenette with table and chairs and the living area with a sofabed, TV with satellite channels (including UK terrestrial), DVD player and a small collection of DVDs and books/games.

Notes on accommodation
Please note that washing machine, tumble dryer and iron/ironing board are provided for the use of all owners and guests in the special Laundry room in the basement area.
There is Wi-Fi internet access is the club area.
Please note the apartment IS NOT SUITABLE for parties of 4 adults or families with more than 2 children over 12 years old.

Accessibility
The property is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
French doors open onto the terrace, where a table and chairs are provided in the summer.

Skiing
The huge Gstaad 'Super Ski Region' which has hundreds of kilometers of well maintained slopes is within 20 mins drive. Local cable car station which provides access to skiing in Chateau d'Oex/Rougemont area is whithin 15-20 minutes walk. During the peak skiiing season the village is also served by a ski bus.

Travel
Travel to Geneva airport (EasyJet offers good deals especially if booked in advance). From there either take a train which takes about 2 hours with 1 change or by car - about 1 hour 45 minutes.

Distances
Gstaad: 20 mins drive, or 25 mins by train. Montreux, Lausanne or Interlaken, Bern - good day trips - are all within 1 hour drive. There is also a pretty medieval village and castle in Gruyère: 30 mins drive. Broc (chocolate factory): 30 mins drive.

Further details
Château-d'Oex is situated in the magnificent Pays d'Enhaut open valley at an average height of 1000m and is considered to be a jewel of the Swiss Alps. The valley is served by the famous M.O.B. Golden Pass panoramic railway enabling one to explore the many interesting villages of the region. There is a variety of activities to choose from in summer: swimming (open air swimming pool), hiking, mountain climbing (cable cars are open June to September), white water rafting, paragliding, hot air ballooning, bowling, tennis. And in the winter: ice-skating, skiing, cross country. There is a cinema and 10-pin bowling alley open throughout the year. The world famous hot air balloon festival takes place every year at the end of January. Gstaad with its famous Menuhin Festival (Classic music) and the Swiss Open Tennis Tournament in July is only 20 mins drive away. Montreux Jazz festival, (July), Chillon, Aigle and Gruyère castles, Spa towns of Ovronnaz and Yverdon-les-Bains, Spiez and Thun on the lake Thun are fantastic ideas for a day out. There is a new Alpine rollercoaster/bobsleigh ride at Glacier 3000.
The village is well served by the local shops, bakery and groceries as well as an excellent supermarket co-op. A good choice of restaurants for those keen on dining out.

Booking notes
£100 deposit at time of booking and balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. This single bedroom apartment is ideal for 2.
For each extra guest there is an additional charge of £35 per person per week to cover extra laundry costs.
The apartment is not suitable for letting to parties of 4 adults or couples with 2 older children.
Guests will be asked to sign a copy of our House Rules.
The facilities are maintained to a very high standard and guests are asked to observe our simple rules.

Guest comments
This is a great apartment, very clean, new and well equipped tucked away from the crowds, in the corner of the village. I couldn't have asked for anything better! I would recommend reserving restaurants ahead as the village can get very busy and tend to close quite early (not like London), we nearly became croppers simply thinking we could get a table on a Saturday night and had a hungry wait. Overall, a fantastic holiday and I cannot wait to come back! Thank you very much. Alex GB
