Luxurious and newly built ski chalet with log fire on three floors. Superb panoramic situation outside the resort, 1.7km distance from the centre. Each of the 5 sleeping rooms has its own bathroom with toilet. On the top floor is a spacious sleeping room with 2 single beds and a sitting area (sofabed for 2 persons) with TV, which can be used as a children's space. Master bedroom has access to own balcony with stunning views. Underfloor heating in the living room, big 'American Style' fridge with water and ice dispenser, garden furniture with BBQ. On good snow conditions you can ski directly from the ski area to the chalet (no marked or prepared ski run, use at own risk). Distance to Les Collons 1.7km. Les Collons disposes of various shops, restaurants, pubs, ski rental shop, ski school, bank, post office. Indoor swimming pool and kindergarten (from 18 months on) in Thyon 2000, 6km. 25km from the regional capital Sion. Free and easy parking available at all parts of resort.

Coast/Beach
20 minutes to lakes and beaches at Iles des domaines, and Le Bouveret (60 mins).
Golf
Sion golf course (20 mins) and Crans sur Sierre (Championship course designed by Seve Ballesteros) is 45 mins away.
Skiing
Chalet altitude 1650m; 3 mins from ski bus (a 2 minutes ride to Les Collons or 10 minutes to Thyon); ample and free parking at all parts of the area; top of the ski slopes 3330m at Mt Fort glacier. 410km of alpine slopes, 95 ski lifts, biggest Swiss ski area. New chair lift Etherolla for winter season 2008/2009. Huge snowparc "Central park" at Thyon. Attractive sledge run between Thyon and Les Collons. Ice rink in Hérémence. The region has a network of 12km Nordic slopes.
Travel
1hr 45 from Geneva airport. Car hire recommended. 8hrs drive from Calais.
Distances
Les Masses is 20kms from the historic town of Sion and is a 5 minute drive away from the traditional Swiss village of Heremence and the local resort of Les Collons. The Grande Dixence dam, the highest dam in Europe, is a 15 minute drive away. Nearest restaurant and supermarket (Les Masses) is 1km. Villages of Heremence and Les Collons is 2–5km. Swimming pool (Thyon) is 8km. The Grande Dixence dam and lake is 14km. Sion is 20km.
Further details
From the outside balconies and terraces there are breathtaking views across to Val D’herens, and all the way along Val Dixence to the mighty Dixence dam. Although this is a very quiet location, it is within 15 mins walk of shops, restaurants and chair lift. It is only 5 mis drive from bars, restaurants and shops in Les Collons and Heremence. There is wonderful walking and mountain biking from the door and many other activities within a very short drive. Activities include: walking. A very wide range of walking is available for all ages and abilities – from meadows and pine forests, of which there are many in this area of Valais, to adventurous and spectacular hikes in the Alpes. Mountain biking. Several of the ski lifts in the region are open during the summer season allowing bikers easy access to the mountains and many scenic tracks back down. For the more adventurous there is a fantastic 44km cycle trail, a day long trip which takes you to the top of one of the highest mountains in the Four Valleys region. Further afield. A day trip, by car or train from Sion, will easily take you to Zermatt (at the foot of the Matterhorn), Milan or the Italian lakes. Other activities include open air swimming pool in Sion, man made lakes fed by the Rhone river with sandy beaches and water sports, golf in Sion, river rafting on the Rhone, thermal spas at Ovronnaz, Leukerbad and Lavey, paragliding, fishing, horse riding (local stables in Vex), mountain biking (hire in Les Collons), Happyland, children's adventure park, the Adventure Forest - Vercorin, Parc-Adventure – Aigle. The underground lake at St Leonard - take a boat and explore this fascinating cave which takes you under the Alps.
