Changeover day
Saturday (negotiable off season) and bookings are for a minimum of 1 week. Check-in time from 4pm on day of arrival and departure time no later than 10am.

The Chalet is strictly non smoking. Pets are not allowed, and it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Accessibility
Due to the three levels, the chalet is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
Maretse enjoys a prime location only 5 minutes walk to the Lift Station, Ski/Snowboard Hire, Lockers, Bars, Shops and Restaurants.
The Chalet boasts splendid views of the mountains and the Rhone Valley which is particularly enjoyed when reclined in the elevated hot tub after a hard day on the slopes.
There is a large garage and parking for another 2 cars outside.
Logs are provided for the attractive stone fire.
In the Winter discount can be offered through the owners for ski/snowboard rental and lessons.
In the Summer on the attractive large patio area there is a garden table for 10 people, chairs, parasol and gas barbecue. The chalet is in a quiet private road yet close to all amenities making it very popular all-round accommodation for its size and location.
Golf
Many golf courses within easy reach by car. Crans Montana, Verbier and Sion all 18 holes. Sierre and Cran Sur Sierre (European Masters Tournament) close by.
Skiing
Maretse is very popular as it is only five minutes walk from Nendaz lift station and in a prime location for ski/snowboard/boot hire, Apres Ski Bars, Restaurants and Supermarket.
Nendaz is part of the 4 Vallees ski area, also encompassing the resorts of Verbier, Siviez, Veysonnez, La Tsoumaz, and Thyon providing 412km of pistes. The area has extensive on-piste runs and unrivalled off-piste skiing. There are family friendly slopes, challenging mogul runs, and skiing and boarding up to 3330m at Mont Fort! The scenery is outstanding in this area. Also it has a snow park and in the village an ice-rink.
Heated lockers can be hired at the lift station nearby. Discount for ski/snowboard hire and lessons can be arranged through the owners.
Special interest holidays
In summer, Haute Nendaz is popular for walking, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, skate-boarding, rock climbing. Many of the ski lifts are open in the Summer months, and bikes can be taken on the lifts free between June - September. There is an outdoor swimming pool in Nendaz and also beautiful baths/swimming pools/wellness near Sion. The largest Alphorn Festival is held in Nendaz in the Summer, and each week in the village there is a market with local produce and wine.
There are extensive walks running alongside "Les Bisses" which are the medieval form of irrigation unique to this area. The area has also an extensive mountain biking area which is all signposted, and mountain bikes may be hired nearby. In 45 mins, the beaches of Lac Leman (Geneva) are accessible. Nendaz is especially family friendly.

Closest airport - Sion (Charter flights only in Winter) 20 minutes away. Geneva Airport - 1h 40min drive or 2 hours by train to Sion. The Chalet is 20 mins. by bus/taxi from Sion. Turin/Milan Airports also accessible.

Haute Nendaz is a lively french speaking traditional town with a variety of bars and restaurants close to the chalet. A Bank, Post Office, local shops,bakery and supermarket are close by. Nendaz Tourist Office is 8 minutes walk from Maretse. Local public transport is close to the Chalet. There are a lot of activities for children, and it has been awarded a 'families welcome' award by the Swiss Federation.
Booking notes
30% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. Only after we have received your deposit will your reservation be confirmed. The balance is due 8 weeks before the rental commences. A returnable deposit of £500 is also required to cover breakages/damage, keys, and will be refunded on leaving the property in a satisfactory condition. We would ask guests to strip the beds before departure but leave protectors for mattresses/pillows on, clean fireplace if used & clean the fridge.

About the owner
My husband and I live in Jersey, and after visiting Nendaz in the Summer we were amazed at how beautiful the area is. The roads leading up to Nendaz were surrounded by vineyards and apricot trees and because of their own micro-climate the temperatures are the same as the South of France but without the humidity. The Valais region is the sunniest region in Switzerland. Both being avid skiers we returned in the winter and were very impressed as Haute Nendaz is linked to the 4-Valleys ski area with 92 lifts and over 412 km of pistes for all abilities. There is breathtaking scenery here over the valley and the 4,000 high mountains that dominate it. It is well worth a visit in Summer or Winter...or be like us and discover how lovely both seasons are!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The location is perfect. It is close to the telecabine, restaurants, shops, supermarket, banks, post office, ski and mountain bike hire, and yet up a quiet private road. We have a small stream running next to the chalet and this is named Maretse - hence we decided to name the chalet after this! It is a French speaking village, very friendly and welcoming for families with children. It is also easy to access from Geneva Airport, or flying into Sion Airport during the winter is just 20 mins up the hill.
Unique benefits of the property
We love the chalet for the position is second to none for convenience to everything, yet it is in a quiet position. It is a luxury open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen which gives the air of space. All bedrooms have bathrooms en suite and the underfloor heating plus the log fire give the chalet a cosy feeling.
