Ideal for two families, as there are two houses on this large 500 sq metre plot, both of which have their own kitchen, living and dining room, 2 double bedrooms both with bath/shower rooms en-suit in each. Several large terraces on three different levels, abundant with potted trees and plants, white washed walls covered with Bougainvillaea. The substantial pool terrace, which is between the two houses has a good size covered gazebo seating 12. The view from this terrace is breathtaking towards the mountains and the sea, facing west over the roof tops of the old part of Velez-Malaga. The barbecue terrace is a perfect area to entertain, large table and chairs can seat 10-12 people.

Reservations can be held for 7 days while you arrange flights and the 30% deposit is received by us, with a completed booking form. Reservations will be cancelled if the deposit is not received in 7 days. The balance is payable in full, no later than 8 wks before departure with the £500 deposit for damages. Bank transfer only. Please Note: Electricity is extra, meter will be read and charges will be deducted from deposit.

Both Kitchens are fully fitted with beautiful Italian units and granite worktops. High quality BOSCH equipment through out, including: oven, microwave, hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Kettle, toaster, food processor.
Large Utility Room- off the barbecue terrace. Bosch washing machine and separate Bosch tumble dryer. Ironing board, iron. Large sink and tap. Free standing large fridge and freezer in this room, ideal for keeping drinks and food cold for the barbecue.
Both houses have good size Living and Dining rooms, well fitted with high quality sofas, chairs, coffee and lamp tables, rugs and lamps. Large flat screen TVs, DVD player, SKY setalite. Free WIFI access to the internet.
Clean towels and linen are provided at the beginning of the rental and changed weekly. Maid service - cleaning the whole property, changing towels and linen - is provided once a week.

About the area
Not suitable for people with mobility problems, as there are a few steps into the house (being on a hill) with no ramp. There are also steps between the 4 terraces.
All the 4 terraces have lovely potted trees and plants, masses of bougainvillaea covering the white washed walls and railings.
Large 2.4 metre dining table and 10 chairs on the barbecue terrace. This sitting area is under a roof, ideal for summer dining. The barbecue is fully fitted, plenty of work surface & cupboards either side, with a large sink and hot & cold water tap.
On the pool terrace, there is a lovely covered built in seating area to keep you out of the hot midday sun, there are also 6 pool loungers, several side tables for drinks. The salt water pool (not chlorine) has wide steps - suitable for children - and is approximately 4m x 5m.
There are several tables and chairs on the other two terraces.
The Beach at Torre del Mar is 4 km and Nerja is 19km
Baviera Golf at Velez-Malaga is 3 km.
Anoreta Golf is 15km
How to get there
Malaga airport is around 30km (35 minutes by car). Car hire is recommended.
The house is in the centre of the charming old town of Velez-Malaga.
Malaga, Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Mijas and Marbella are easily accessible on the motorway, which is only 3km away.
Restaurants, Tapas bars, local shops, supermarket and the banks are all only a few minutes walking distance from the house.
The beach, water park and a huge shopping centre is only 10 minutes drive from the house.

1) Peter Young & family (London) - August 2010: Hugely enjoyed staying at this wonderful property. We've spent most of our stay outdoors, enjoying the pool and surrounding terrace area, outside barbecue & dining area was most useful for our large family. All the furniture and fittings were of very high quality. We've loved it so much, we have re-booked this property for June 2011.
2) Barbara McNamara (Kent) September 09 - Great place to stay, our teens liked the idea of staying separate in the 2nd house. Enjoyed the few minutes walk into town, which has numerous Bars and Restaurants. Good beaches 20 minutes drive to Nerja. Velez-Malaga is a typical Spanish town (very few tourists) so going out to eat was very reasonable.
3) B Stanton (USA) - Easter 2009. Amazing place to spend the Easter holidays! Processions in medieval costumes, music playing, drums beating, hundreds of men carrying the Madonna on floats, street parties..... Loved the house, view from the terraces are awesome.
About the Owner
We live in London, UK, but try to have a long weekend as often as possible in Spain. Sometimes just the two of us, but once a year at least the whole clan (4 generations!) invade the house.

Why this location?
I was visiting a friend in Andalucia. She has asked me to help her house hunting, as she has sold her house in Spain and wanted to buy another. I had no intentions at the time to buy a holiday home, but the moment I saw this property, I absolutely fell in love with it, the views from the terraces were just stunning! I bought the house in 5 days! I spent the next 18 months totally gutting it back to bare bones and rebuilding re-designing everything. I think you will agree, that it is a splendid property. I love the area, because it is a typical old Spanish town (very few tourists), some of my neighbours have been living here for 8 generations. The local restaurants and tapas bars cater to the locals, so they are extremely reasonable.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
Very easy to get to the house from Malaga airport - 35 minutes by car, the motor way is only 3 km from the house. So all in all, I can be at my house in Spain, within 6 hours of leaving my house in London. We are only 90 minutes drive from Granada and in fact spent a long weekend skiing in the Sierra Nevada last year. Malaga, Seville, Cordoba, Mijas, Marbella all within easy reach, we have been to Morocco several times by car. The fast train Madrid-Malaga takes only 2 hours.
