Notes on accommodation
The apartment is well equipped - this is more a home rather than a rental property and I have tried to do everything to make my guests comfortable.
Please respect my personal possessions and let me know if there are any essentials you feel I have omitted to supply.
For the benefit of everyone, I would very much appreciate it if you would not smoke inside the apartment.
If you MUST smoke, please use the terrace.
Outside
The complex has well maintained gardens and a good sized pool, together with a learner pool. The pool hours are from 8.00am/10.00pm. There is a barriered car park with additional spaces provided immediately outside the complex.
Coast/Beach
There is a beach 1km away, just across the main road, reached through the Playa restaurant. The beach at La Cala is also pretty good and a lot quieter. Be careful with the very hot sun. 15 minutes unprotected is enough to burn, even out of main season. You have been warned!

Distances
2 hour drive to Granada to see the Alhambra is well worth it. Take the train from Fuengirola to Malaga; and north of Malaga is the lovely little town of Antiquera where you should visit the old town around the old castle.
Further details
Spanish public transport is relatively cheap. The blue and yellow buses across the N340 at the bottom of the hill will take you to Fuengirola; the stop on the apartment side of the road is for La Cala and Marbella.
From Fuengirola, a trip to Ronda is recommended. The bus station is a short walk from the railway station towards the seafront. Locally based taxis will pick you up from the apartment, generally within 5 minutes of your call. Phone 952 476593 or 952 478288.
There is a train from the airport to Fuengirola and a taxi rank sits outside Fuengirola station.
A local mini market is beside the restaurant Colinas del Faro, which is fine for basics. There’s another small supermarket, laundromat, hairdresser etc. as you go back down the hill. There are a couple of bars there too. Fuengirola has everything you could possibly want. Easiest parking there is at the port (Puerto Deportivo). I also often use the Supersol supermarket in La Cala.
A favourite large shopping centre is on the outskirts of Marbella, follow the signs for the bullring - Plaza del Toros - as you climb up the hill. On the right you will find Las Canada, one of those mall type things with everything including an excellent Alcampo hypermarket. Further on is Puerto Banus where there is El Corte Ingles and Hypercor, an upmarket department store and supermarket.
Las Colinas Restaurant outside the gate is fine, Walkers just off Calle Bilbao, 10 minute walk from the apartment, has a brilliant value all inclusive option. The Faro Playa, which is straight across the dual carriageway, is ok, with a great view. Another favourite is Cafe Jose on the beach in La Cala, just a few minutes further on the coast road towards Marbella.
Try visiting the area around Orange Square in Marbella, and, a bit further west, a visit to see how the other half live in Puerto Banus is a must. You will see private motor-cruisers bigger than warships!
Booking notes
A deposit of one third of the total rental price is payable on booking. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. You are strongly advised to include cancellation cover in your travel insurance. The balance should be paid no later than one month before the start of the rental.
