Casa Carolina is situated in the countryside just 10 minutes from the lovely pueblo blanco (white village) of Competa with it's many shops, bars and restaurants. The villa enjoys a peaceful setting with only the sounds of nature to disturb you. Its surroundings are lovely - the view up to the mountains is simply stunning. Terraces and gardens surround the villa with a lovely pool to make the most of the outdoor lifestyle. A Spanish kitchen is set next to a pretty vine covered pergola for alfresco dining while watching the sun set over the hills. There is a large area of land which belongs to the villa, with olive and almond trees, an old fig and wild herbs leading down to a pretty stream - a wonderful place for nature lovers with wild flowers, bees, butterflies and birds and, of course, the ever present song of crickets. If you tire of all this there is plenty to do close by visiting the beaches of the Costa del Sol, pretty Spanish towns and the cities of Malaga and Granada.

The villa, terraces, parking area and pool are all on the the same level so are accessible for people with mobility problems.
The villa is south facing but shade can be found in several places in the heat of the day. It is surrounded by flower beds, olive and fruit trees. There is a bench to sit and gaze at the mountains. There is a large terrace for sunbathing by the pool with sunbeds, tables and parasols. An outside Spanish kitchen next to a pergola with table for alfresco dining. Shaded area to rear of property. Outside lights and light in pool for evening Large parking area. 7 x 3.5m swimming pool with deep end and roman steps to shallow end. The pool is completely fenced so safe for small children. Can be heated if required at extra charge between April and November

About the area
The beaches of the Costa del Sol are only a 20 minute drive away. There is something for everyone from the beach at Torrox with it's wide promenade, bars, restaurants and shops, to the pretty coves at Nerja and water sports at Burriana Beach, to the unspoilt beaches and beautiful coves east of Maro.
There are golf courses at 25 minutes and 40 minutes by car.
Sol y Nieve Ski Resort at Granada - approx 2 hours.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Malaga at 50-60 minutes. Granada airport is 1.5 hours away. Car hire is recommended.
Competa village is a five minute drive. Malaga is a one hour drive. Granada can be reached in 1.5 hours. Nerja with it's caves and lovely beaches is 30 minutes.
Competa is full of shops, bars and restaurants where the food is both very good and reasonably priced. There are three good supermarkets, several banks, bakers, fishmongers and bodegas selling the delicious local wines for which the area is famous, as well as lovely gift shops. A market is held in the village on Saturdays until 2pm, a great place to have a coffee and soak up the atmosphere. There is horse riding and motorbiking into the mountains available locally. Walking opportunities abound from gentle slopes and river walks to high mountains, with many waymarked walks in the area. Further afield, Malaga is a beautiful city with its Moorish castle, lovely parks and shopping and, of course, Granada with the Alhambra set against the Sierra Nevada.

About the Owner
Clive and Marie have owned their holiday home since 2007 and have spent the past 3 years improving it.
We purchased Casa Carolina for family holidays, and, looking to the future, a place to retire.
All revenue goes straight back into the property for maintenance and improvement for all to enjoy.

Why this location?
We love Competa for it's close location to some of the bigger Costa del Sol resorts but it is an unspoilt, typical Spanish village with breathtaking scenery and clean mountain air.
