A very spacious villa, with excellent facilities, that has been very popular with families. The south facing aspect, allows for beautiful sunsets, while relaxing on the terraces or in the pool, on balmy summer evenings. The pool and gardens are surrounded by high walls for your maximum privacy and security. The pool has underwater lighting, an outside solar heated shower, a large patio area with garden furniture, parasols and sun loungers. All beaches have soft sand, excellent for swimming and snorkeling conditions, are EU Blue flag with lifeguards, especially suited for families.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Wednesday, we try to be flexible if bookings allow. Take advantage of cheap mid-week flights. Most villas have changeover days at weekends but make big savings on your air fares with us if you go mid-week.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed and built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 2 with double bed and built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 3 with two single beds and a cot. All bedrooms have usual Catalan furniture with black out security roller blinds at the windows. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom is fully tiled with heated towel rail, a bath, shower, wc and a washing machine. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully tiled, equipped with modern fitted units and marble work-tops. Usual kitchen appliances include cooker, oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric kettle and toaster etc. |
| Living Rooms: | The spacious lounge diner is equipped with LCD TV, DVD, Sky satellite, BBC, ITV, etc; There are two new leather sofas, dining table and chairs, together with traditional Catalan furniture. The lounge has doors that lead on to the patio and pool. |
| Other: | We have just installed central heating for those out of season months, November to March. There is a naya [a covered porch] a gas BBQ with table and chairs for dining alfresco in the evenings. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Included in the price, the pool is maintained weekly and the villa is cleaned for your arrival with fresh bed linen and house towels. Please bring your own beach towels. |

Notes on accommodation
We have a helpful english couple living nearby who look after our villa, available for any queries you might have. Sorry smoking is not allowed in our villa only in the naya, neither are we able to accept pets.
Outside
The gardens include a solar heated shower, and a 7m x 3m kidney shaped pool with Roman steps. The pool has automatic under water lights, where you can enjoy swimming under the stars at night. Sun loungers are provided, together with outdoor garden furniture, ideal for the cool of the day dining.
Coast/Beach
Villa Gardenia is nearby to the famous ruins of Empuriés along the coast, two complete towns, one Greek, one Roman, where you can wander through ancient times. The beautiful beaches below the ruins are a perfect place to relax after a morning's exploration. You could also walk along the boardwalk to the tiny medieval hamlet Sañt Marti for lunch in the square over looking the sea.
Golf
There are seven major golf courses within a 40 minute drive. The superb 36 hole Emporda course is approx 10km, 20 minutes from our villa.
Skiing
Skiing possible in French or Spanish Pyrenees, approx two hours drive.

Travel
L'Escala is approximately just over 35 mins drive from Geroña, 90 mins from Barcelona or Pérpignan airport in France, all served by low cost airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Jet2 and Monarch etc; from the UK. The route to L' Escala is via the A7 toll road or the N11 freeway. To fully appreciate the area we recommend you hire a car.

Further details
Visit Figueres where the Dali Museum is located, Barcelona the capital of Catalonia, and Gerona the medieval walled city is a worthy day trip from our villa. As an antidote to cultural overload, why not visit the Aqua Brava water park on the outskirts of Roses. On our visits we have found it clean and a carefully landscaped theme park with plenty to do throughout the day for all age groups. Another suggestion, spend a day on the "Dali Trail" driving along breathtaking mountain roads, through the pretty town of Cadaques and on to the coast road around the artist's former home at Port Lligat all within easy reach from our villa.
