Villa L'Africaine is set within Sotogrande bordering the green zone that surrounds the world famous San Roque golf course. The rental on offer is composed of 2/3 of a 480sq.m villa (the remaining 1/3 is a private apartment with separate entrance through the garden. The rental includes a large living area, a separate dining room which seats 6 to 8 people (both with views to the green zone), a kitchen, a master bedroom with large bathroom and walk-in-closet, and 2 upstairs bedrooms with shower rooms en-suite. Off the living room is a small cupola room with a daybed. Our maximum capacity is 6 adults + 1 child who will fit in a cot (up to age 3/4). Even though there is an apartment occupied by the owners you will have exclusive use of the pool, pool area and 2400sq.m of garden, which will only be visited by the two friendliest dogs you will ever meet and us, the owners, for watering plants or mowing the lawn. Both sections of the villa are completely independent, so you will hardly see us!

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros.
Discounts available for 3 + weeks during the low season. We keep our availability calendar up-to-date. Blue means available. If an area is marked in gray, that means the villa is reserved but payment has not yet cleared.
Orange means booked and payment completed.

Changeover day
Rental weeks span Saturday to Saturday, this means changeovers are invariably on Saturdays. Arrival from 4pm and checkout by 11am (for cleaning purposes). Changeover days are only negotiable between October and Easter.

Living Rooms: Living area with stunning views to the green zone, pool and garden. Equipped with DVD player and a large TV with basic Sky package. Dining table for 6 to 8 people. There is an outdoor dining area in the pergola in the garden.

Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen provided, towels provided. Property cleaned before arrival and linen changed. If maid service is required just ask us and we'll set it up for the same fee our cleaners charge us.

 

Notes on accommodation
Since we live in an annex of the villa, if you need any assistance we are happy to help. We have ADSL wifi, so if you bring your laptop we will provide you with the network password and you can use the internet conveniently at no extra cost. Sotogrande has 24 hour security. There is also the possibility of renting a 1 bedroom wing, which includes everything stated in the ad, except for the entrance tower and 2 upstairs bedrooms which lead off of it. If you're interested email us for a discounted rate!

Although the 2 sections of the villa are completely independent, thereīs a door in the tower that connects the 2 parts but remains locked at all times. If you should need anything, all you need to do is knock!

Accessibility
The property isn't ideal for wheelchair users, but it is workable since most of it is on ground level. If you have any special needs or particular allergies, contact us and weīll see if we can work with you to resolve them.

Outside
Well tended and mature lawned garden, surrounded by a eucalyptus and pine mini-forest, there is a dining gazebo in the center of the garden. Outdoor furniture for dining along with comfortable seating and sunbeds by the pool. Carport parking for 1 car + uncovered parking area. Don't forget that the dogs will share the garden with you, so if you donīt like dogs, the property isnīt ideal!

Coast/Beach
We are a 5 minute drive away from Sotogrande Marina and the beaches, where you will find a variety of restaurants and small shops. The closest beaches are at Sotogrande and Alcaidesa. Sailing and water sports are offered at both. While Alcaidesa is a long stretch of beach for walking, jogging and excellent views to Gibraltar. Tarifa offers fantastic sandy beaches, appealing to more adventurous surfers (kite/wind) and even galloping horses through the breakers - (40 minute drive).

Golf
We are located 5 to 10 minutes away from all of the following golf courses. Sotogrande Real Golf Course: 18 holes 6298 metres Par 72. Almenara Golf Course: 18 holes par 72, 6168 metres. San Roque Golf Course: old course 6494 metres Par 72. Valderrama Golf Course: 18 holes Par 72.

Skiing
You can enjoy skiing in Sierra Nevada during the winter season. It is only 2.5 hours drive from Sotogrande.

Special interest holidays
For golf lovers Sotogrande is the premier spot in Europe, but if golf isn't your thing the coast offers a wide range of activities, from water sports, polo, and tennis, to fine dining.

Travel
1 hour drive from Malaga Airport on the motorway. Many airlines fly into Malaga including Budgetair from Dublin, EasyJet from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Gatwick, Liverpool, Luton, Newcastle, Stansted. BMI Baby from Cardiff, Manchester, Teesside. Ryanair from Dublin. 20 minutes from Gibraltar Airport. Monarch flies from Luton, British Airways from Heathrow and Gatwick. Jerez Airport 55 mins (Ryanair flies to Jerez from Stansted). A car is essential.

Distances
Gibraltar 20 minute drive. Estepona 20 minute drive. Marbella 25 minute drive. Malaga 1 hour drive. Ronda 1 hour drive. Seville 2 hour drive.

Further details
Sotogrande has a large supermarket called Supercor, where you will find anything and everything you need, from fresh fish to gourmet food items and even some British imports.
There are many great restaurants around the area at Sotogrande, Guadiaro, Puerto Duquesa and in the hills. There is also a discount shopping mall about 20 minutes away, and if you're feeling homesick you can always pop into Gib for a spot of Marks and Spencers. We're happy to provide the phone numbers for cleaners and baby-sitters if you require any of those services.

Booking notes
20% non-refundable at time of booking, balance 8 weeks before beginning of rental. Please be honest with us regarding the amount of people who will be staying.
We stick to a minimum of a one week rental from Saturday to Saturday, but donīt be put off by that as 1 week with us comes out cheaper than a couple of days in most Sotogrande rentals, so even if you donīt use the whole week, it might be worthwhile.
