Impressively situated at the entrance to the village, opposite the castle walls, Mas Mascaros offers guests an opportunity to stay in one of Ullastret's and the Costa Brava's most beautiful country houses. Lovingly restored, the house has every modern facility whilst managing to retain many original features such as the tiled floors, wooden beams (including the largest in Catalunya), wattle and daub ceilings, stone washbasins, open faced walls and the original well in the kitchen which is now a delightful feature with a glass floor cover and lighting. Mas Mascaros is ideal for the larger family holiday with friends. It is also an ideal location for small business conferences and workshops or as a base for special interest groups (cyclists, artists, yoga, clubs, retreats etc). It offers complete privacy, security, tranquillity and beauty.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and euros. Minimum rental is 1 week. 10% deposit required at time of booking and the balance due 60 days before arrival. A provisional booking can be held for a few days in order for you to finalise your travel arrangements.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover days in July and August are either Saturday or Sunday. Outside of this period the changeover day is flexible. Normal arrival time is after 4pm and departure time before 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Mas Mascaros is child friendly with all areas designed with little ones in mind. During the summer months, the house does not need to be air-conditioned at all due to the fact of its design, huge size and some of the walls being nearly 2m thick! It stays naturally cool. During the winter months, should heating be required, thi is provided in the form of several open fireplaces and a state-of-the-art oil-fired warm air distribution system which heats the whole house.
Outside
The first floor terrace, with built-in BBQ area and fridge, looks over the wonderful and peaceful Baix Emporda countryside, ideal for relaxing on warm evenings. The beautiful landscaped garden includes a swimming pool and a decked seating area which overlooks an ornamental pond. Privacy is guaranteed and the automatic entry gates and alarm system allow for complete peace of mind.
Coast/Beach
The golden beaches of the Costa Brava at L'Estartit, Agua Blava and Calella de Palafrugell are about 15 minutes away. Estartit boasts one of the longest beaches on the Costa Brava with a 6km stretch of gently shelving Blue Flag beach perfect for families.
Golf
This area is a golfers paradise, with championship courses and several 18 hole and 9 hole courses to test the best players.
Golf in this area is all year round due to the mild climate.
The nearest PGA golf club is only an 8 min drive through beautiful Catalan countryside & a stunning 18 hole par 3 is only 6 mins awey.
However we defy any golfer to find a more spectacular course than the world class golfing resort of Mas Nou found at the top of Mas Nou mountain ( 15 mins). This will take your breath away! Owned by Hapimag, this resort is built to a extremely high standard from famous Mas Nou stone and enjoys spectacular panoramic views of the coast as well as stunning views north to the Pyrenees. Golfers can enjoy this spectacular and unique scenery whilst playing a round.
Close by you will find the Costa Brava Golf Club, Golf d'Aro, PGA Golf de Catalunya, Golf Club Pals and Club de Golf Girona.

Skiing
The Pyrenees which beautifully frame our landscape in this area, are easily accessible. For skiers and snow boarders in the winter months, the beautiful ski slopes of the Pyrenees can be reached in around 1.5 hrs. Day passes are cheap and equipment can be hired too. Many people get up and go to ski for the day and return late in the evening, or families simply go for a day out to enjoy the wonderful beauty, go sledging on the nursery slopes and dine out in one of the first class restaurants.
Travel
Nearest airport is Girona airport which is around 40 minutes drive away. Perpignan airport in France is an hour away and Barcelona airport is around 1.5 hours away. All airports are served by low cost airlines with multiple daily flights from all over Europe. The nearest train station is 'Flaca' which has a regular service to Barcelona and is a 15 minute drive or taxi ride away. Use of a car is recommended.
Distances
Mas Mascaros is just 200m from the ancient 'Llotja' or roofed square, through which one enters the village centre and where you can find a selection of fine high quality restaurants and bars with pretty open air terraces plus the local grocery store. The nearest larger towns of Torroella de Montgri and La Bisbal are both a 10 minute drive away. Here you will find large supermarkets, banks, tourist info, hospitals, local markets and 'bodegas' which sell local wines.
Further details
There's a limitless array of activities available to you and your group when staying at Mas Mascaros. Take a drive around the neighbouring ancient stone villages that make up the so-called 'Golden Triangle'. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants in nearby medieval Peratallada. After lunch, visit the fascinating farm museum in the tiny village of Palau Sator. Visit the entire Dali Triangle. This includes the village of Portlligat in Cadaques, the Dali Theatre Museum in Figueres and nearby Pubol Castle, which Dali gave as a gift to his wife, Gala. Climb up to the medieval castle of Montgri. Enjoy the spectacular views that stretch from the Mediterranean to the Pyrénées. Drive down the coast and enjoy lunch in one of the many fine seafront fish restaurants. Choose from some unspoilt fishing villages such as Tamariu, Sa Riera and Sa Tuna or have a special meal at the famous Hotel Aiguablava.
Water sports. Enjoy kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and various other water sports in nearby L'Estartit or L'Escala. L´Estartit boasts the famous Medas Isles which are a world class diving venue. Diving packages for the experienced or try dives can be organised for you. Boat trips around the 7 Islets and snorkeling trips are fun for every one of all ages. Charter a yacht and set sail for the hidden coves all over the rocky Costa Brava coast line.
Cycling. Take one of the cycle tours around the countryside of La Bisbal, especially along the banks of the river Daró.
La Bisbal. Visit the colourful Friday market in La Bisbal or check out the numerous antique shops you will find there. Stroll beneath the archways 'Voltes' situated along the main high street of the village and then pop into the renowned cake shop 'Sans' and buy one of its famous delicious 'Bisbalenc' cakes. Visit the wine cellar of Mas Oller for wine tasting. Pop into Torrent and pay a visit to the Jam Museum in the Plaça Major.
