Casa Azucena is a 3 bedroom, luxury villa located in an elevated position in the pretty white village of Bedar, close to the holiday resort of Mojacar and the fishing port of Garrucha. It is set on 1 hectare of land and offers panoramic views of both the Mediterranean Sea and the stunning mountains of the Sierra De Los Filabres. This spacious home has numerous terraces and a large Spanish style courtyard which is ideal for dining alfresco, it also has a south facing aspect so it's private 10 x 5 metre swimming pool and landscaped gardens are not only a perfect setting for a family holiday, but also benefit from sunshine all day long. The village of Bedar has all local amenities including good restaurants and tapas bars. Local activities include walking, horse-riding, quad biking and 4 golf courses all within a 15 minute drive of the house. Bedar was recently voted as one of the top ten places in Spain to live. This home is a truly best of both worlds holiday location.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 - king size bed, en-suite, balcony overlooking pool, large terrace with 360 views.
Bedroom 2 - double bed and terrace with pool view.
Bedroom 3 - either double bed or single bunk bed with double pull out sofa-bed.
All bedrooms have Sky TV.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom with large corner bath, walk-in-shower area, bidet, washbasin and wc.
Bathroom 2 with enclosed shower, washbasin and wc.
Separate wc with washbasin.
Kitchen: Modern fully fitted kitchen in maple with marble tops and double sink. Appliances include a oven, ceramic hob with extractor, microwave oven, toaster and kettle.
Utility Room: Sited in the adjoining utility room are 2 large upright fridge/freezers, washing machine, iron and board. The boiler for the central heating is also in the utility room.
Living Rooms: Open plan in design the spacious 6 x 12m lounge has two
3 seater leather sofas, woodburning fire, Satellite TV with(BBC/ITV/Sky), xBox games console, DVD and CD players. Separate access to Spanish courtyard and sun terrace with spectacular views.
Other: The villa benefits from a variety of terraces and outdoor eating areas, a favourite is the 9 x 12m Spanish style courtyard ideal for alfresco dining. The 8 x 5m L-shaped terrace is ideal for breakfast with its stunning sea and mountain views.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are included and will be changed at the end of each week. The villa will be cleaned at the end of each rental, although a weekly/daily clean can be arranged for a small additional charge.

 

Notes on accommodation
The villa benefits from central heating for our winter guests.
There is a sixteen foot trampoline for the use of guests, push bikes and quad bikes are available for an additional charge.

Accessibility
Although the villa has not been specially constructed or adapted for wheelchair users, it is easily accessible to all living areas and two of the three bedrooms. Most of the outdoor areas including the swimming pool, terraces and courtyard can also be accessed by wheelchair.

Outside
Roof terrace - a terracotta tiled 6 x 12m terrace with table and chairs, superb 360 degree views of the mountains and beyond to Mojacar, Vera, Cabrerra and Mediterranean Sea.
Covered terrace - 3 x 5m covered sun terrace with a three seater sofa, side table and lighting. Overlooking the swimming pool, gardens and superb mountain views.
Spanish Courtyard - large 9 x 8m private courtyard with lighting, Satellite TV point and gas BBQ with a wooden family table and six chairs.
L-shaped terrace - large 8 x 5m breakfast terrace has views to the swimming pool, gardens, mountains and beyond down to Mojacar and the Mediterranean Sea with glass table and six chairs.
Bottom terrace - 13 x 26m swimming pool terrace is totally secure and walled in it has breathtaking views of the mountains and beyond it gives access to the landscaped gardens at one end and a gravelled area at the other where the 14 foot trampoline is sited.

Coast/Beach
Mojacar beach is a 15 minute drive away with Garrucha town's wide sandy beach almost the same distance. The huge beach of Vera Playa is a 15 to 20 minute drive, as is the water park situated there.

Golf
There are four golf courses within a short drive of the villa - Cortijo Grande, Marina del Torre, Valle de Este - all within a fifteen minute drive. Desert Springs approx twenty minutes drive.

Special interest holidays
We can arrange guided walks that take in some of Spain's most breathtaking scenery, these walks can be 3-4km one hour strolls or can be half day 15-20km walks. Either way we will tailor to suit your fitness and requirements. Quad biking is also available, if you are a novice don't worry as full training is given and all bikes are automatic, we will trek on dry river beds, old farmers tracks and lanes quite inaccessible by normal car, giving you a taste of real Spain.
Bedar is a nature lover's paradise and if you enjoy unrestricted countryside walks and appreciate flora and fauna then you will soon recognise this is an exceptional place by any standards. In the past year some 70 species of birds have been seen including the golden eagle. Wild flowers particularly in the spring (February - April) are numerous including wild orchids. Bouganvillia is in abundance with various shades of vibrant colours, flowering cacti and bird of paradise.

Travel
Bedar is just 50 minutes from Almeria Airport, this has flights from Gatwick (Monarch, MyTravel, Easyjet, Excelair), Stansted (EasyJet, Ryanair), Luton-(Monarch), East Midlands (Ryanair), Manchester (Monarch, Ryanair), Birmingham (Jet2.com). You can also fly to Murcia San Javier (1.5 hours drive)
From the airport follow signs for E15/N7 autovia in the direction of Murcia, exiting the motorway at junction 525 and following signs for Bedar.
