Newly renovated village house lovingly restored using as many of the original features and fittings as possible giving the house a traditional rustic feel. There are 4 floors with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two terraces with great views, fully-equipped kitchen, communal sitting area and utility room. The under floor heating and hot water is supplied by solar panels (with gas back up) taking advantage of the fantastic local climate. The house is in the centre of the village of Monachil within a couple of minute's walk of the local shop, restaurants, bars, banks and bus stop. Granada city centre is only 10 minutes by car and buses go every hour from the village taking only 25 minutes. Monachil is at the edge of Sierra Nevada National Park only 25 minutes drive from the ski resort. The mountains that surround the village are great for mountain biking, hiking, paragliding with Granada's top climbing area, Los Cahorros gorge, only 20 minutes walk away.

Bathrooms: Bathroom 1 on ground floor with WC, sink and shower. Bathroom 2 on 1st floor with WC, sink and shower.

Kitchen: The kitchen situated on the 2nd floor is fully equipped with induction stove, oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle and all kitchen utensils, cultery, crockery, opens out onto a terrace through big double glass doors.
Utility Room: Situated on the ground floor is a storage space with sink, microwave and kettle (doubling up and a basic 2nd kitchen).
Living Rooms: The living area is situated on the 4th floor with 2 double doors opening out onto a terrace with fantastic views of the mountains. There is a double sofa bed and CD player and speakers.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and towels are included. The house is cleaned before the property is rented out with fresh clean, linen included. For stays of more than 1 week clean linen and towels are supplies once a week.

Notes on accommodation
The house has under floor heating in all the bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and the kitchen. The hot water for the heating and for washing is supplied by 3 solar panels on the roof with a gas back up. The other rooms have electric heaters. The house is non-smoking but you can smoke on the terraces.

Accessibility
The house has 4 storey’s and steep stairs. The bedrooms are situated on the ground floor and 1st floor with the living areas and access to terraces on the 3rd and 4th floors. On the ground floor there are 2 twin bedrooms, utility room (basic kitchen), and 1 bathroom.

Outside
The house opens onto a small street in the centre of the village. There are 2 terraces with great views and a barbecue.

Coast/Beach
The coast is only 40 minutes drive on the motorway - with the beaches of Motril and Salobrena closest with more secluded beaches a little further in the Parque Natural Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. Granada's coastline is known as the Costa Tropical because of its high year-round temperatures. Augmented by excellent crop irrigation from the snowmelt of the Sierra Nevada, this tropical climate is perfect for sugar cane, avocados and mangoes that are usually found in more southern climes.

Skiing
We are 25 mins drive from the ski resort of Pradallano which is within the borough of Monachil. There are 80km of pistes and lifts take you up from 2100m at the ski resort to 3200m almost to the peak of Pico de Veleta one of the highest mountains in the Spanish Peninsula. Travel
Granada airport is closest only 30 minutes drive away. Malaga is 1 hour and 40 minutes drive and Almeria is about 2 hours drive. A car is not essential as the house is in the village there are regular buses to Granada. Airport transfer can also be arranged.

Distances
Granada city centre and the Alhambra are only 8km. Ski resort of Pradallano is about 35km. The white Moorish villages of the Alpujarras are about 1 hours drive away.

Further details
The house is around the corner from the local supermarket which is well stocked with most things that you might need. There is also a pharmacy, DIY store and tobacco shop in the village. There are 2 banks - Caja Rural and Caja Granada in the village. There are 6 restaurants in and within walking distance of the village and about 4 cafe, bars including the Arte Cafe Barbería has occasional art exhibitions, showings of alternative films in original languages, and sometimes live music sessions. Bike hire and guiding can be arranged just around the corner. Maps can be bought at the bike hire place. We can put you in contact with hiking guides and paragliding companies and ski or snowboarding classes/hire can be organised. We can also arrange flamenco classes in the village as well as traditional Spanish cooking classes. Ask the owner for website for the Alhambra. Deposit of 20% can be paid into our UK account or Spanish account. The full payment should be paid 2 weeks before arrival or in euros on arrival.

‘Great accommodation, lovely people - just bloody brilliant...Unlike a lot of self catering accommodation Shaun and Csilla's. Loads of cutlery and crockery (there's none of that asking the landlady if they can spare a wine glass as six of you have been sharing a jam jar for 2 weeks nonsense). There are 2 balconies and three showers and a place to store your bikes -it’s perfect. The town itself has loads of restaurants and bars and there is a great little bar that does delicious meatballs and chips (and spinach pasties if you are a veggie) and toastadas which are like toasties only tasty and with fresh ingredients and it is about 30 yards from the apartment’
