This modern second floor apartment with access via stairs and a lift has the advantage of being in the centre of a small Spanish village, but away from the busier main street and only a 10 minute drive to beaches and the bustling local town of Denia. The village itself was mentioned in Derek Lambert's book 'Spanish Lessons' and still has the traditional old bakery and wash-house as well as more up to date amenities such as banks and supermarket. The village shops include a butchers, fishmongers and patisserie as well as a pharmacy and the bars and restaurants cater for a variety of tastes serving everything from salads and tapas to the popular local rice dishes. Within walking distance there is a small single track railway line with a train running hourly during the day between Denia and Alicante. The apartment itself is light and airy with inside and outside spaces for sitting and dining and has an intercom system to the street for access.

Changeover day
Saturday is the preferred changeover day but alternative days could be considered on request. To allow for a thorough clean between rentals the check in time is from 2.00pm and check out time 10.00am. Late check out could be considered on request.

Bedroom 1 has twin beds, air-conditioning and double glazing.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a large built in wardrobe.
Bedroom 3 has a double sofabed.
All bedrooms are set at the back of the apartment away from the street and are double glazed. |
| Bathrooms: |
Both bathrooms have modern fittings and are fully tiled with heated towel rails.
Bathroom 1 has bath with a shower over, pedestal basin, wc and bidet and the second bathroom has a walk-in shower, wc and basin set in a vanity unit. |
| Kitchen: |
The kitchen is fitted with all modern appliances including a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and double sink. The washing machine is on a small service balcony leading off the kitchen which also serves as a drying area. |
| Living Rooms: |
The spacious sitting room and dining area are approached through double doors and are equipped with TV, DVD and music centre. The dining table seats 8 and is next to a serving hatch from the kitchen. The balcony also has a dining table and chairs. |
Cleaning/towels/

The towels and bedlinen are included and will be changed once a week. The apartment is also cleaned weekly. |

Coast/Beach
The apartment is within 10 minutes drive of Denia which has a variety of sandy and pebbly beaches stretching to the north and south of the town. Denia also has a working fishing fleet and pleasure boats leave from the bottom of the main street for trips along the coast to the towns of Javea, Altea and Calpe. There is a yacht club and new marina with bars,restaurants and water sports for rental.
Golf
The Jose Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Resort with 18 existing holes and another 9 being added is a 5 minute drive from the apartment.
Travel
La Xara is approximately 1 hour's drive from both Alicante and Valencia airport which are both served by numerous carhire companies. The apartment is situated in the centre of the village with shops and restaurants within an easy walk. A bus leaves at intervals during the day for Denia and there is an hourly train running between Denia and Alicante but a car would be required for sightseeing and getting to the beach.
Distances
The apartment is in the village of La Xara. Denia is the closest town - about a 10 minute drive, has a tree lined main street with shops and cafes and the sea at the end. Denia has an historic area and ancient castle with a museum as well as a number of beaches, a marina and a tourist information centre giving details of local fiestas and activities. Javea - about 20 minutes drive, has three interesting areas, the Arenal beach, the old town and the port all worth a visit.
Further details
La Xara village itself offers shops, bars, restaurants and cafes all within a minute's walk of the apartment. There are also two banks with ATMs and a small but well stocked supermarket. An excellent patisserie which even opens on Sunday morning provides fresh bread and cakes and the local market offers fresh fruit and vegetables on Thursday morning.
There are also a host of activities a short drive away. The La Sella tennis club with a number of clay and all weather courts is situated across the valley from La Xara (about 8 minutes by car) and is open to visitors. Lessons are offered for everyone from beginners to professionals or courts can be reserved. La Sella also offers horseriding and there is a bar and restaurant in the same complex.
Within a half hour drive of the village of La Xara there are a number of attractions including water, theme and marine parks details of which can be found at the Tourist Information Centre in Denia.
