Casa Escudo, Hacienda Riquelme is part of the 'Nicklaus Golf Trail'. Situated close to the village of Sucina, 15-20 minutes from Murcia City, 15 minutes from the warm safe waters of the Mar Menor and 15 minutes from Murcia Airport. The golf course is an 18 hole par 72 stretching 6416 metres from the back tee. It includes five lakes and plenty of bunkers to challenge your game! It is a ground floor apartment with front line views of the golf course and the stunning Riquelme Country House (town centre). There are 19 swimming pools around the resort for your enjoyment, with the nearest one less than one minute away. Murcia has an exceptional climate with average daily temperatures of 21 degrees C, with 250 kms of coastline to explore.

Changeover day
Changeover days are usually Saturdays, but we will be flexible wherever possible. Arrival time 4.00pm, departure time 10.00am, these times may be flexible depending on other bookings, please check with the owners.

This is a very comfortable apartment with full air conditioning, and gas central heating. This is a non-smoking apartment, but ashtrays are provided on the main terrace. Suitable for children. Sorry no pets. Welcome packs available, please contact the owners for details.
Accessibility
The apartment has very good access with plenty of nearby parking.
Outside
There is a large terrace with pergola, patio furniture and sun loungers. The perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the views and the stunning sunsets. Swimming pool within a 1 minute walk.
The property is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens with olive trees and wild flowers, all within a secure gated environment, including frontline views of the golf course. Enjoy a peaceful evening stroll around the resort.
Coast/Beach
The Costa Calida has a stunning Mediteranean coastline with an average of 320 days sunshine per year. The beaches around the Mar Menor are clean and safe, with therapeutic mud baths, beneficial for bone and skin ailments. Take the ferry accross to the 'La Manga Strip' for 8 euros return.
Golf
The Nicklaus Golf Trail comprising currently of Hacienda Riquelme, Mar Menor Resort, La Torre, and El Valle, all linked by a free shuttle bus service. When the whole trail is completed there will be 9 courses all within a 15 minute drive. There are several other courses in the area including Peraleja (next door), and La Manga. The whole area is a golfers dream!
Travel
Murcia, San Javier airport is 15-20 minutes away, Alicante approx 60minutes. Mainline train station is 10 minutes drive at Balsicas. As car hire in Spain is very reasonable it is highly recommended to enjoy the sights of the region.
Distances
The village of Sucina is a 5 minute drive, with a petrol station, banks, 2 supermarkets, bakers, cafes and tapas bars. Murcia city is approx 25-30 minutes away, with its glorious cathedral, restaurants, bars and exclusive shops. Los Alcazares, is an up and coming town, with beautiful beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. Cartagena is a lovely old city with an interesting maritime museum.
Further details
For excellent nightlife, try taking the shuttle bus to La Torre Mar Menor resort or El Valle, where you will find a selection of restaurants offering a wide range of delicious food, or try a tipple in the Clover Irish sports tavern, with fantastic olde worlde decor. If you are looking for a water park, try the Torrevieja Aqupolis, just a 30 minute drive away.
Water sports are available on the Mar Menor, including windsurfing, kite boarding & sailing. Jet skis are available for hire form ABC La Manga sport centre.
There are many leisure activities available in the area including horse riding, cycling and go-karting.
Booking notes
Cleaning costs are not included and are payable direct to the management company. A deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking confirmation. A £150 security/damage deposit is required which will be refunded within 2 weeks from the last day of rental, except where costs have been incurred. The balance is required 8 weeks prior to departure. Bookings an be made by phone or e-mail and your reservation will be confirmed on receipt of your deposit and a completed booking form.
